Wouldn't have turned out so bad. The dragon passenger capsule will have an escape system with extra rockets on the sides that would blast it away from the exploding rocket. According to SpaceX, passengers would have survived the recent explosion just fine.

The capsule may survive the initial breakup, but it is not going to be aerodynamically stable just after the rocket shreds itself in an uncontrolled way.
At near orbital speed that means it shakes you around violently in a small can with a bunch of other objects which probably are not secured well enough to resist flying around during an event like that. You would not be pondering what is coming up long at all, assuming the capsule even survives an uncontrolled reentry from where the rocket breaks up.

FKA (Russia) is the most experienced, and best at putting people people safely into LEO. CNSA is the only other organization that puts people into outer space. I wouldn't use SpaceX, and their flimsy rockets. Oh well.

The disaster took out the core of it's space tech, the best they could hope for was to bring a robotically acquired Moon sample back before Apollo 11 did. Which was the race as they were both in space at the same time.

Umm, no.
If you'll go to the trouble of checking, you'll find that the Russians are currently at two failures in 120-low launches, as compared to two failures in 135 launches for Shuttle.
Note that "failure" in this context means "loss of crew in flight".
Ignoring a possible failure at the beginning of their program (very early on, a Russian launch was announced one day, then a few hours later they said, in effect, "never mind - that was actually an unmanned launch". Take that for what you will), and adding Apollo, Gemini, Mercury, Vostok and Voshkod launches to the totals leaves the Russians with a (slightly) worse safety record than NASA. Around 1.5% for both, but the "around" is a little lower for NASA....
Note that the Russians have lost fewer men in space than NASA, but that's largely a side-effect of putting fewer up at a time (four cosmonauts vs 14 astronauts). In mitigation, it might also be noted that NASA has put up far more people than the Russians (~250 for the Russians, ~1000 for NASA).

It is a troll. Russia is no better at it than NASA, they have about equal safety records. CrimsonAvenger ran the numbers and gave the infomation comparing both just before your post here, they both have around a 1.5% failure rate.

As stupid as it sounds, I would blindly trust my life to SpaceX. Honestly if you look at what they do and how efficient they are, the other agencies pale in comparison. Yes, yes they are basing many of their technology on existing research, but so are the national agencies. In addition they are aiming at getting the dragon capsule to "inflight abort", something no one has ever achieved. Both of the first stage landings that failed, successfully put their payloads into orbit. They are trying something new that has never been done and doing pretty good at it, but these failures are of the kind that is nice to have, but isn't what they are paid for.

Yes, Valium is definitely a sedative, but you'll probably still be wide awake. Quaaludes and a beer should put you to sleep. I'd recommend against weed though. First, you'll be in the security line so long it would wear off, but the main thing is that a lot of people get paranoid on pot, especially when they're herded in with a couple hundred unknown people and screaming children.
