Prince Harry Joins Silicon Valley Start-Up (cbsnews.com) 83

Prince Harry will become chief impact officer of BetterUp Inc., a professional coaching platform based in Silicon Valley with a goal to "fuel whole person growth through individual coaching and custom support." CBS News reports: "As a true citizen of the world, he has dedicated his life's work to bringing attention to the diverse needs of people everywhere and advocating for mental health initiatives: from founding the Invictus Games, a platform for service personnel to use sport as part of their psychological and physical rehabilitation, to launching Sentebale, which supports the mental health and wellbeing of young people affected by HIV in Lesotho and Botswana," [CEO Alexi Roubichaux said in a blog post].

In his own blog post, Harry said he joined BetterUp because he believes "that focusing on and prioritizing our mental fitness unlocks potential and opportunity that we never knew we had inside of us." "As the Royal Marine Commandos say, 'It's a state of mind.' We all have it in us," he continued. He said during his decade in the military, he learned that "we don't just need to build physical resilience, but also mental resilience." "And in the years since, my understanding of what resilience means -- and how we can build it -- has been shaped by the thousands of people and experts I've been fortunate to meet and learn from," Harry said. Harry revealed he has worked with a BetterUp coach, which he found "invaluable."

      Bullshit job given to him so they can use his celebrity to gain funds. It's like the SPAC craze where celebrities get tied in to draw investment (ex, Shaq and the dumpster fire that is WeWork)

        Um, she was 36 when she was killed, I doubt she was expecting to die quite that young and so probably hadn't even formed a will at that point.

        She was divorced from Charles by then so all her money would've gone to her kids by default, because that's the law.

        I'm not a fan of the Royals or Diana, it doesn't really interest me, but attacking someone for not predicting their own untimely death and blaming her for her wealth being passed down to her sons due to the law is, well, weird.

      Empathy? This is a nerd site, the requirement of which is being ASD which comes with the empathy deficient trait.
      Personally I think his wife has bought into the poisonous woke ideology which will only cause more suffering the longer it continues. So their demise will result in a net gain for society overall. How's that for empathy? I'm always thinking of the greater good.

          I blame my own nation the good old USA for this though. The sad fact is its our culture that enabled a no-talent gold digging whore like Markle to be successful enough to get herself across the pond and under the nose of Prince harry in the first place.

          If we were a better country Markles acting career would have left her waiting tables at the local Hooters.

          Americans are fascinated by power, wealth, and celebrity, and the British Royals seem to be the culmination of all three.

          I don't think Americans particularly grasp the service part, and although hereditary power is weird I do think there's something to be said for insulating the national image from the political whims of the day.

      Really don't go there. There is a massive rumour in the UK that someone called James Hewitt [wikipedia.org], a Cavalry Officer who publicly admitted to banging his mum senseless, is actually his biological father. Apparently dates etc. don't line up at all but that doesn't stop it from being endlessly repeated - not in print as the newspapers aren't that stupid.

      Harry is not the brightest bulb but has been utterly destroyed and wokeified by his harridan and spiteful wife who got "royally" pissed when it dawned on her that she would always be second fiddle to the Duchess of Cambridge.

      Do you really think this is the first time that's happened in the last 1000 yeas of monarchy? If something like this mattered in the grand scheme of things for the crown, it would probably have fallen apart well, nearly a thousand years ago.

                • PM No, parliament yes.
                  Everybody in the UK must obey the law, and laws are made by parliament. As Queen she must sign all laws into being, she can reject, but the monarch has not refused a law for hundreds of years. She as Q can refuse but she cant make laws. The monarch has given the job of making laws to parliament, thats why they are called her ministers, because in a strange sor t of way they are doing the job of law making on her behalf.
                  In the cse of Wallace Simpson, she was not acceptable because
                • THe Prime minister cannot make any laws, he is head of the ruling coalition. To make laws a majority in parliament must vote yes to make a law, and the PM only gets one vote, but in practice everyone in the party always follows the same vote. Because if a coalition cant make laws they must call a new election because a coalition that cannot make laws is broken.

      Maybe that actually is the "best" of us, at least on average.
