Movies have changed. And not always for the better. Remember the horror/slasher and sex-comedy movies of the 80s?
You had boobies and bush EVERYWHERE! Porky's? Yes! Porky's 2? Yes. The various Friday the 13ths? Yes! The Nightmare on Elm Street series? Yes! The police academy series? Yes!
We had a gratuitous boobie genre. Stewardess School. Up The Creek. Hardbodies. Valley Girl. The Last American Virgin. Bachelor Party. The list goes on and on.
Where have our boobies gone? The best boobie scene in a recent hollywood movie was the topless sunbathing in Swordfish.
I couldn't tell you the last time I saw bush in a hollywood movie. And it's damned unfair!

Judging from past experience, Whedon will want to cast a relative unknown in the part, which will allow him to impose his own vision on the character. Except that the studios will definitely insist on a Big Name, for all the usual reasons. And they probably won't want the same kind of actor that Whedon will want. So the fact is that in 3 out of 4 tv/film projects Whedon has been involved in (that I know of) there has been excellent work far exceeding my expectations.
Unfortunately, the bad project was also a film.

I disagree. :) I find both Angel and Buffy to be too cheesy, to the point of being painful to watch. I know a number of people who like both, but if either starts playing, I change the channel or leave the room. I thought Firefly, on the other hand, was very well done. First of all, the proper term for refering to the recently departeted is not 'death', it's "pre-decompisitionary". And secondly, if there is a better catagory for disabled then pre-decopisitionary, I've never seen it.
And I don't see any major challenges for exhuming the grave of Reeves so he can play super-man as a pre-decompisitionary differenlty abled character. We have some pretty good acting coaches to help out.
