That degree may be the reason these people have a job in the first place.
Because yeah, degrees get you jobs. If you take two candidates with roughly similar profiles, employers will take the one with the degree, 90% of the time.
The rest is just bias. You worked your ass off for 5 years, you are now in debt and you see that one guy who barged in without any qualification. It is easy to feel bad about it. What you don't realize is that the guy is an exception. He may be particularly gifted, have a good network, or maybe lucky enough to be there at the right time. He may not need a degree, but you do.
You also may not see the value in what you learned. But that's after you meet someone with absolutely no formal education in the field. They are usually missing something, they tend to do things they don't really understand. Most of the time, it is fine, but sometimes, it is a mess. Again, there are geniuses who not know everything there is to know, just by looking, but again, exceptions.
