I never though much of Kirk as a fighter, but he definitely was a lecherous dude. His response to that Borg bitch would have been, "Let's get in the sack and see who assimilates whom."

It's natural to think that. Vi, Firefox, Linux, and OOo (and Spiderman) all run on emacs! I tried editing a file once with emacs, but couldn't get the session of Windows running in it to close!

Emacs is, without question, fantastic. It's probably the most wonderful application ever written for Linux.
Now if only it included a decent text editor it'd be perfect.

8 died during the initial "vi vs. emacs" phase of the discussion, 9 more after "emacs vs. vi" was mentioned as being "better". There was a short cease-fire when it was suggested that both options be listed but 8 more died during the "which one first, then" phase. 2 people committed suicide when the discussion drifted to which one colors perl code better.
On a side note, one greybeard was killed when the Motif/LessTif debate was mentioned. His funereal is delayed whilst the family decides if his memorial website should use php with HTML4 or python with XHTML.
