As a bonus [BONUS!] I'm also offering my SW Episode I stuff. This I'm thinking of selling for ~$50, but would certainly be willing to take more!
Star Wars Episode I Memorabilia
The Notes:
[1] - RAM is now extremely cheap, but back in the day this little 8MB sucker cost $300! I don't know what the limits are, but if you have more RAM lying around you could possibly try throwing it in.
[2] - The Amiga A1200 is in horrible condition, but it is there. None of the boxes are in especially great condition, but they are, nonetheless, original.
[3] - I have tested a grand total of 0 of these disks. They are original, ie, ~15 years old, so consider yourself disclaimed!
Just interesting how I had expected the rest of the web to reflect Slashdot's predilictions simply because that's what I read most;-)
So I took my old, bitter self and the family to Ironman last night. I was pleasantly surprised. The previews left me with the impression that I would be gnashing my teeth over the leaps required for willing suspension of disbelief; but they grealty overstated things. In context Ironman does certainly kick a lot of tuckus, but he is not as invulnerable as the previews would have you think. The special effects were seemless enough that I don't remember thinking about them even once, though my wife noticed some sloppy CG on Tony Stark's shirt;-)
I think the actors did very well, and that the undertone was actually quite positive. No doubt Jeremiah Cornelius will disagree, but I think the theme was moving from a life of flippant shallowness to living for a purpose beyond oneself. Done via much cliche, but done nonetheless.
