Okay, I give up. I know it will kill the joke, but please explain. Is it some kind of art joke? Or a specific website's meme? Maybe a photo filter for selfies?
Anyway, I thought the deadline was short enough that $100,000 is too high. However, when you consider the tulips, the historical precedent for peak "value" might be $10 million in today's dollars.

If Bitcoin follows it's usual price swinging pattern, it will probably hit $80K and then crash in value by 50% again.
Maybe it will hit $100K on the next go-around, assuming that the EU and US governments haven't added any new restrictions to it by then. They do love finding new ways of taxing things.

Exactly my thoughts it's bang-bust cycle with increases each time. What's sad is that Bitcoin can no longer be used for any normal transactions - it's just sitting there as a store of value burning CO2.
Quantitative easing (QE) causes asset price inflation (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asset_price_inflation) while not directly/immediately causing that much price inflation (inflation in consumer prices). Central banks have injected unprecedented amounts of money into the economy using QE. A potential bitcoin bubble may well be caused by QE although it is probably one of the smaller bubbles caused by this. And it does also seem to start leaking seriously into general price inflation now.

QE is an interesting kind of backwards steering. All of the politicians have decided that as long as the stock market doesn't crash, they can claim the economy is doing fine. There was a time when stock prices were at least partly related to the value of each company's business. A long ago time. Now they are just going to keep pumping in whatever amounts of imaginary or borrowed money it takes to keep the stock prices from crashing. At least that's "the plan" (on the theory someone is planning anything).

Bitcoin - the original project, can still be used for normal transactions. Sadly the project that stole the name "bitcoin" and the BTC ticker is pushing this silly store of value narrative instead of being actually useful.
Proper usable-as-cash bitcoin is now called bitcoin cash.

The truth is that bitcoin, BTC, *IS* usable as cash RIGHT NOW...if you didn't know, the test bed for this is an entire nation state. El Salvador made BTC legal tender and is using the Lightning Network to bring financial inclusivity to their entire country...it rolled out seamlessly and you can just scan a QR code for immediate payment anywhere in the country now...the Bitcoin Cash folks realy need to stop deluding themselves and get aligned with reality again.

Seems the market disagrees with your ridiculous 2015 narrative. Bcash was as high as 0.3 bitcoin in 2017, down to 0.01 now and still sliding. Is it still in the top 20 coins? Probably not for long.

I thought BTC was exchanged against a quasi Dollar... so wouldn't BTC in part depend on how inflation is going for the US? Which is very well, if you are the inflation ;).
No for 2 reasons (Score:2)
1. If it sticks to its current trajectory, it will get there, just not in the next couple of months.
2. Some banks and governments (Is there a difference?) are sending ever increasing sums to stop it. To stop this psychological step, they will probably increase the amount.

That's where the "distributed" nature of the block chain ledger comes into play. The coordination to ensure they're the source of truth on all the copies needed to pull it off would put this in the highly improbable camp. In other words, not technically impossible, but technically inconceivable.
