To be fair here, I'm sure that many of those hardware issues would have been addressed by literally leaving the laptop on with the internet connection active. Win10 does tend to download at least class compliant drivers as a part of Windows Update. While it can be a bit of a crapshoot as to whether certain specific hardware functions are implemented (e.g. the Realtek driver pack comes with a graphic EQ function and some sound effects that the class driver doesn't), you'd probably have gotten the majority of them working without actually needing to do anything.
That said, the Asus website has all the drivers needed; download them, run them, and click 'next-next-done'; it takes 20 minutes, less if your internet is quick. This has been part of the install process since Windows 95.
I'll 100% admit that Linux is getting damn good at supporting hardware out of the box, while Windows can still require driver installs, as you've illustrated. The major difference being that Asus has the driver downloads on their website. Hell, that driver download page was the second Google result when I looked up your model number. I'd wager that your touchpad fix wasn't documented on the Asus website, and I'd double down on the fact that the fix required a command line at some point. That's fine. You're using what works best for you. That's also completely fine.
However, while there are no shortage of complaints which could well be levied against Microsoft, the fact that your specific laptop required OEM drivers doesn't sound like the weightiest of grievances in my opinion.
Meanwhile, nothing on the list of functions getting the axe seems to overlap with the list of issues you had on your install. I'm not sure how much security MS is adding, or how much space they're saving by removing these functions, but I don't think you'll be better or worse off based on them.

Nit, I've read that after the fall of the Western Roman Empire, literary was so rare that in many? societies scribes could get away with murder by paying a hefty fine, their talent was that valuable.
Per Wikipedia prior to 1100-1500 paper wasn't a thing in Europe, and of course it was only towards the end of that period that movable metal type allowed for mass production printing of long texts, both of those plus sufficient agricultural surpluses are needed if you want to have a somewhat literate society, instead of only those at the very top, including especially priests.
Going back to early Christianity, I've read that the typical church would have copies of the books of Psalms and Proverbs, and only one or two books of the New Testament at any given time, copies of the latter would move from church to church, rare because they had to be reproduced by hand a letter at a time.
I think your focus on the Bible Belt is off, because for many sects of Protestantism it's considered important to be able to read the Bible. I'm from that part of the country and reading was considered to be very important, and if my home town school district ever dabbled with whole word, by the time When Johnny Can't Read was published it became nationally famous for being able to teach just about everyone how to read.
