If you do need stronger security, just don't enable the fingerprint option. Pick a 6-character random password (or longer if non-random) and be careful not to let anyone watch you enter it. Note that the brute force mitigation done by Android means you can use a shorter password than you would need on your desktop, etc.

I'm pretty sure that gets taught as part of generic database management and installation, at least it's in textbooks. But what seems more worrisome is that 12% that can see all data. What company would need 1 in every 8 employees to have access to everything?

Other governments, merchant vessels, ferries, navies seem to be able to use the same advanced tech in really bad weather conditions all over the world every day and night.

GM has a long history of purposely making their small cars crappy, so that they wouldn't cut into the sales of their larger cars (and later, their trucks). Not going to buy one of our profitable, large BOF vehicles? Enjoy your tinny penalty box. It's not wonder they got completely obliterated by the Japanese, who don't have the mindset that if a car is small, it must also be low end and crappy. That they went bankrupt was completely deserved. What wasn't deserved was the bailout so they could go back to making gas guzzling trucks and SUVs all over again. I really hope the next time they go under the politicians let them fail like they should have done the first time around.

They work with good skills and educated crews.
Like any tech, put the work in with the skilled crew and it works better.
Put in some IQ tests and see who is conscientious.
Then give the crews the touchscreen and note the task is done as expected.
Test and test some more. Then have experience crews on duty to further test and educate.
Most nations mil services worked that out over decades of testing going back many generations.
Good engineering design. Testing of the design. Crews selected on merit and testing.
A good ship design with a crew that has the skills. Most nations who do that have a Navy that works.
War and politics what changes all that. Not the moving a ship around the world part.
Most nations should be able to do that crew and design part after decades of testing and educating.

The vast majority of their money is spent on rides. A good portion of that is things like insurance (someone finances a car through Uber, crashes it a few months later. Uber loses a lot of money on stuff like that).

You can look at their spending breakout in their financials (now that they are a public company). R&D for things like self-driving cars is just a fraction of their total spend.

Open the USA up and see jobs and investment return.
Why should entire productive areas of the USA be put off limits by state and federal bureaucrats so a few wealthy people can go glamping a few times a year?
Let experts in to see what can be done re minerals, energy, tourism, housing, dams, forestry.
Bring wealth, jobs and exports back to more parts of the USA.
Want to save the wolf, bear, eagle? Set aside actual areas of importance.
Not areas covering most parts of a state due to bureaucrats more and more land off limits.
Government agencies can give back the West of the USA to the people again. Let each city and state work out what they want to do with their land.

I thought it was well known not to connect the "smart" TVs to the internet ... then they can't do stupid stuff like that. I've got a Samsung QLED and it doesn't do anything like that, then again, it's never been connected to the internet either. All of my "app" (e.g. Netflix, etc) are run via my Tivo.
