Journal Journal: Mr. Smith, you need to clarify tk. 2 23
Why do you want to give the incumbent any advantage at all? It does not jibe with your general attitude towards them. Artificial term limits only limit the voters' choice. And it has absolutely no effect on the power of the Party and its incumbency. The simplest, fairest way to do it is to make everyone start in the same place. Giving the incumbent any advantage of any kind at all is entirely unfair

When the existence of the Church is threatened, she is released from the commandments of morality. With unity as the end, the use of every means is sanctified, even deceit, treachery, violence, usury, prison, and death. Because order serves the good of the community, the individual must be sacrificed for the common good. -- Dietrich von Nieheim, Bishop of Verden, 1411.

Trumpies are on the march. Good to get rid of incumbents, but to replace them with this? No thanks! Problem is they can win. But, this is what real liberals need to to do with the DNC if they want to make it into something worthwhile that actually opposes war and austerity. Problem is that the brutality needed to overcome the opposition often carries over into the office and the job itself.
So, is Plato right?

Thank you, ladies, gentlemen...
Journal Journal: Slashdot has gone full chickenshit... 4
No more anonymous posting at all anymore. Now the place will be as boring as Biden, and about as worthless
Fuckers!
Journal Journal: Congress is on vacation! That totally sucks! 8
The lapdog tabloid press won't bark. They are useless.
The prez is sabotaging social security, the post office, the election itself
And fucking congress is on vacation!
And that's not even the worst part... No, the worst part is that almost all of them will be reelected to do it again and again...
Society is suffering a deep psychosis
Journal Journal: Taking the easy cowardly way out 1
Instead of trivially deleting duplicate spam posts, the admins decide to eliminate anonymous posting all together. Such a shame.
Oh well, the place was getting sloppy anyway in allowing all those bot accounts. Now it's just going to be another "Safe Place"®, free of all dangerous controversy
Journal Journal: Oy! So now Slashdot is the new Facebook?
They're recycling "trending" stories up to the top for more hits. Evidently 800 isn't enough...

Dear Slashdot:
Please tell all the crybabies to shut the fuck up.
Journal Journal: Censorship on Slashdot? 7
I got a message about a reply to one of my comments. When I tried to read it, I got this..
This is bad. If Slashdot is censoring comments, it has lost all its appeal over any of the other bullshit chat sites. I hope that people will be vigilant against this, and raise hell anytime it happens. The ACs need to save a local copy of the comment on their machines so it can be documented.
Please, don't allow censorship, here, or anywhere else. I know, swimming against the tide and all that. But *if you see something, say something!* Don't help the tyrants
