In Em's Absence: The Holiday Gift Poll

Comments Filter:
  • *hic*...though I wouldn't mind option B, in the form of cool kitchen gadgets.
  • Beer, beer and beer... I know it's close to option X, but I am not very hardened against brandy and egg-nogg is not my stuff.
  • Kinda. A Millermatic 251 Mig welder is what I'll probably be getting.
  • Of course.

But for second choice, I'd have to say h.) i want a hippopotamus for christmas, unless I can get a million dollars. . .

    ^_^

  • Y'all get sand. What one does with it is up to oneself.
  • Not really in that order... or maybe... I don't know. Yes, in that order will be fine.

Where's the "set fire to the neighbors with the over-the-top exterior decorations" option? hmmm... must have to go through the list again.

  • I'd actually take all of (b) off my list this year if I could get a full year worth of (e). Then, assuming nobody else wanted to step up and sacrifice their (b) for a year, I'd do it again if possible.

However, given the going rate of a year of (e), I'm gonna have to ask for (b) and maybe some (V). Most everything else I'm either not interested in, already have, or am uncertain as to if it should go on my list. For an example of the last, take (RW). I know RW tangentally at best, and can't say I know whether

  • Pretty please?! :)

Actually, now that you mention it, a good teapot would be jolly nice. But i wouldn't say no to 3) either, as it looks like a little devil.
  • Sort of. A winter coat. Mine is full of holes and is getting thin in spots, but I can't really afford a new one. Well, I suppose I could...but that would cut into the chocolate vodka budget (distilled from wheat, sorry).
  • Steve Martin talked about having a gasoline-powered turtleneck sweater... I have never been able to find one, even on eBay. But I want one!

  • $ respond --brief > Subject

Does a functional, stationary Exocet count as V) or 9) ?

b, because gadgets are just cool. I am getting one gadget (sorta) for my wife, who will probably end up being mine.. :)

Other than that, I want some of the green stuff because we are building a house, and the more money the better off we will be with all the other stuff we have to get.
  • I don't have a dreidel, but i do have a d20 that's a ton of fun to spin as well. I can even use it to do magic stuff :7
  • In that order. If I can't have the first, then I want the second.. and so on.

I'm giving functional gifts this year, not fun ones. I feel bad, but everyone I know already has all the toys they need so I'm buying things that might actually use instead.
  • Just O. and a job would be nice. Not that I can get 'O', regardless of job...

Even just a couple girls to play card games with. No, not strip poker... Well, yes, strip poker, but not necessarily strip poker...

  • And the rest of the red, white and blue warriors home from the Camp Sand, hand in hand with e.). Too much to ask for?? Well, let me press my luck.

    An O.) would be welcome.

I fear we could all use V) before too long.

    3.) PLEASE!!

And before I get too depressed would you pass the X.) please.
  • ...a thermonuclear warhead.

    Just one.

    Please?

    My dreydl's bigger than yours.

    Cheers,

    Ethelred

Having Em come back would be cool, but one can never have to many gadgets. :)
  • O No). It'd never work. I've said this before. But that doesn't diminish the desire.

Trogdor) I'm not sure what a can of sterno is, but a brick is always handy. Plus, of course, it's the Trogdor option. My Strongbad email DVD arrived today and was waiting for me when I got home :-)

?) Deathwish? Dunno about that, but fruitcake is always welcome. Unless it's been sullied with alcohol, nuts or cherries. Which unfortunately applies to most shop bought ones.

Dr. No) Well duh! As a by product, this would let

  • Hey, I actually enjoy my mom's fruitcake! :) I'd like some fruitcake, a Significant Other, maybe some peas on earth. However, I doubt I'll even get coal this year. Not only have I been bad, it's been a bad year for my Mom, the only family I still hear from.

So, any present I'll get, are ones I'm buying for myself. That means the 18kt gold chain, and two sterling silver chains, probably a Crystalbelt, some silver-tin extra-easy solder. Might be able to swing a bit more than expected in December, as I do
  • I'll settle for b and L, but O would be nice.

Not sure where I'd put the hppo though, but that would be a cool present! ;-)
  • Except c, d, g2, and h. Even c and d wouldn't be so bad provided it was a lifetime supply and I had a place to store it.

O would be quite nice as well. Not nearly as good as a job, e, RW, or M would be, but good nonetheless. (I'm the type to wish for good things for other people before I wish them for myself.)

Yes I did include O No, long story, but suffice it to say that I have a terrible crush on my best friend of 17 years. Unfortuately she has been with someone else for much of that time. This might expl
  • I suppose you could just say that I'd like my stocking stuffed.

Or is that the same as RW?

OK. I can live with that.

    ....Bethanie....

  • O cuz we all need that sweet lovin..

M cuz this is just horrible ;)

  • Legos.

Yes, I have Legos, mostly of the Mindstorms variety. I want more. I visited the Lego Store at Downtown Disney when I was there a few weeks ago. Actually, I'm going to be at Legoland on Saturday, too.

    mmm.... Lego.
  • I've wanted coal since before I was eight. I wanted to grind it up into small chunks, pour it on pavement in words or patterns, and light it.
  • Yep. All that.
  • B Gadgets are always cool

    E Peace rocks.

V How else do you enforce peace?

RW Red Warrior back from Sand Camp. He is a better shot than I and has experience enforcing the peace.

Dr. No. I'm too busy to rule the world. I'll rule by proxy.

  • Let's see... b, of course. V. RW. O. O No. M. 3.

Speaking of M3, a new BMW would be nice...

As for O No... like Tet said, it would never work. But that doesn't make one want it less.

Specifically, I think I'm going to ask for more train Lego. Once I clean up, I'm going to set up all my Lego train stuff so that I can drive trains around. I've got two identical sets right now, but I'll get more varied stuff over time, I think.

I'd be in so much trouble if I had a pet right now. There's Lego all over the floor.
