I think your observation is explained by the "fact" that making someone a friend, then a neutral, then a friend, will send two friendage messages.
So don't question that lady, blame the programmer.
You can test this by making red4man a foe, a neutral, a foe, a neutral, a foe, etc. Since red4man once said that re4man has an orgasm whenever someone foes red4man, if you hear a series of deep, long moans, you will know cgn is reading his messages.

No, if someone friends you, then unfriends you, then friends you again it would have "XX has ceased his relationship with you" between the two friendings.
It may be that there are two people, one a troll that is using a nearly identical ID. Once befpre I got my old ID back and was using "sm62704", I was surprised by a message that said "sm627O4 ha made you their friend."

I figure I can not control who is on my freaks list, but I can influence it. I do choose my friends with some care- you never know what kind of freaks are out there. Though I do generally subscribe to tit for tat.

You can try adding them to your friends list; that might get their attention and get them to rethink their opinion of you.
I doubt that would work for me, I don't have many freaks, but all my freaks have more foes than friends and more freaks than fans. Having trolls on your freaks list should be considered an honor!

I think the idea of friending a freak is to make them think that you're stalking them, because now you can get a notification every time they post in their journal. That just tends to make them go snakier ... which may or may not be the desired effect, YMMV, etc.
Does anyone know what the record is for the most number of freaks, anyway?

I have 17, railgunner unfoed me, probably because I said I like being foed by trolls. You and Pudge both have more fans, though, I have around 200.

I have beta turned off, but on my low-power machine the /. script pretty much takes over my machine for around 25 seconds after the main-page content has loaded. It was worse - for a while I was getting a pop-up that a script had gone non-responsive and did I want to terminate it? That was when I pretty much stopped visiting /.
