    Robust for the Right Business

    Date: Jul 05 2021

Summary: Overall, while I think this would be great for someone who can dedicate the time to set everything up or hire someone who specializes in doing so, it was a miss for me, and probably way too far off to ever be feasible to use.

Positive: The features are unarguably robust, complex, and detailed. They have all your bases covered in terms of whatever you may need for your business from document sharing to voice calls, team meetings, video conferencing, web hosting, email, and much, much, much more.

Negative: Perhaps, it is a bit too much. Navigating through Teams is much like navigating an entirely new operating system you've never used before, if it's your first time. It's dizzying, and really not user-friendly at all. Although it has a ton of features I would love, it's also way too time-consuming for a small organization (like me, 1-2 people) and just not worth the amount of time it would take to learn it all.

    Skype for Business

    Date: Jun 30 2021

Summary: Overall it works but there are definitely some areas of the software that feel clunky, not a bad option though.

Positive: Teams is very similar to Skype, with more functionality towards being used in businesses or groups.

Negative: It's still Microsoft so some of the features are lacking.

    Zoom Alternative and Office Friendly

    Date: Jun 30 2021

Summary: Teams is a great virtual meeting/screen sharing application and a good alternative to pricier GoToMeeting or Zoom accounts as it is part of the MS Office Suite. The only downfall is there isn't a call-in number. Other than that I highly recommend Teams.

Positive: Being able to share content and have conference calls without a separate system is definitely a plus. Our organization uses Office 365 and Teams is a part of that suite. We use Teams for training calls, touch bases and meetings. It is easy to use.

Negative: There isn't a conference line or a phone number to join. It has to be through the application. If your computer doesn't have a microphone, you need to open the app in your smart phone for audio.

Great for Covid but needs it lacks intuitive interface

    Date: May 21 2021

Summary: Teams does the basics well, but many features should be implemented better in order to actually be useful to users.

Positive: Teams has been essential for my team and broader organization to continue to function during the past 1.5 years of Covid. Video calls, voice calls, and chats with anyone in the organization is super easy which has been CRITICAL to all collaboration for quite some time.

Negative: The platform seems relatively robust-- it offers integration with sharepoint and other Microsoft platforms (e.g., calendars). You can also build groups (Teams) where you can have focused conversations and work flows. These should be pros, but they are solidly in the con category because of how clunky these features are. They aren't intuitive. If you go through the effort of learning how to use these features, you will be lucky if your coworked will do the same. For example, I've been a part of several Teams set up around a particular project. They never work well in part because all users have to manually opt into turning on notifications. The relationship between file sharing on teams and sharepoint is murky to most users, and therefore is no well utilized.
It is frustrating that this platform has so much to offer that is under utilized at more organization as a result of poor design.

    Not the best for education

    Date: Nov 18 2020

Summary: It'll get the job done if you don't have the choice of other platforms, but most teachers should prefer Google Classroom.

Positive: Robust integrating with other Microsoft products and many useful third-party apps, interface is fairly intuitive.

Negative: Missing many assignment-related features available in Google classroom, Microsoft is slow to accommodate needs of educators in rolling out new features.

    Microsoft Teams review

    Date: Sep 30 2020

Summary: I've had a bad experience with this application. I'm attending online training and I've missed some classes because of this applications poor performance.

    Positive: Can manage teams easily.
Can be used to share files.
Can be used to hold virtual meetings.
Can be accessed. on mobile and laptops.

Negative: Disconnects too often. Requires very high internet speed. Don't know why the chat option gets disabled although others are able to chat.

    Not as good as Zoom

    Date: Jul 02 2021

Summary: It isn't as good as Zoom. I would prefer Zoom because Zoom is so easy to use, and I don't need a special account to use it.

Positive: It is made by Microsoft, so every windows computer comes with it. It also is very easy to use especially for adults.

Negative: You need to have a Microsoft account in order to use it, and it isn't as good as zoom.
