If you mean that it will take another generation 'til people don't believe readily what they read simply 'cause someone wrote it, then I agree.

But until people realize that 99% of what they read on the internet is bullshit, we should maybe find a way to keep people from having their lives ruined by slander.

Well, at the current moment too many people still buy into the illusion of freedom. It took quite long for the East Bloc to collapse as well. What it takes is the majority of people realizing it, not just a select few who manage to see past the show created to keep them complacent.

That takes time. In the end of the East Bloc, the difference between the show and the illusion created for the people and the reality they faced every day grew out of proportion. We're not at that point yet. People still believe what they are being told.

We have to wait. There's little we can do but wait.

Are you referring to the way we can't balance a budget, the way we can's secure the southern border, or the way we have completely soiled ourselves on international policy matters of late?

Some people prefer the protections that come with a central government that helps to balance things between the states.

So you ARE espousing federalism, and not the collapse into a super-state?

If one instead pursues this philosophy of a highly neutered government many people will lose the freedoms and opportunities that they value the most.

Do you mean being buried under debt and unsustainable entitlements, or some other craven dependency on the capitol city of Xembibbi?

No, we do not know that.

Given the level of dishonesty offered by this Administration, e.g. the "destruction" of Lerner's hard drive and emails (for one of a galaxy of examples) we can confidently suspect the worst.

Well, Gruber seems to think so, with his "speak-o" nonsense. But no, I'm talking about a nearly six year track record of wretched foolishness. Hardly a rush to judgement.

The Constitution starts to become a little like the Bible: Once a pretty good idea, born out of its time and back then a great set of rules to live by to ensure that everyone can survive and thrive.

It's just that times change, stuff gets invented and certain things ain't as simple as they used to be, while others got way simpler. Plus in both cases people who kept reading the stuff over and over trying hard to find loopholes and, of course, finding them to subvert the original idea.

In other words, rules and regulations have to keep up with time. Else they become a relic and a tool for mocking them.

I remember reading the book once and I was completely absorbed in the story. I finally looked up and noticed it was dusk. For a brief moment, I felt panic rising because the stars were going to come out soon. It took a moment to disentangle myself from the story.

Being able to completely lose yourself in a book can be a good thing most times - other times, it can backfire.

This may be the case (I'm nobody's prophet), but I do hope that a conventionofstates.com/ occurs before a split.

You like to plug that website on about a weekly basis it seems; in fact you almost plug it more often than your own blog. Of course, you don't like those people, so they don't matter much to you.

However from my perspective your convention could well end up a catalyst to disintegration of the united states.

No, we do not know that. You claim that, but you have not once offered up anything resembling facts to support that notion.

So apparently, you feel that if a conspiracy theory is repeated enough times, it becomes fact simply by repetition then? You certainly haven't offered any facts to support the notion that you are harping here. It doesn't matter how many conservative blogs you can come up with who voice their opinions on the matter; they are not facts (beyond the fact that they are the opinions of people who have no connection to what is actually going on) with regards to the conspiracy that you love to repeat so much.
