"Feature complete", right. I can't wait for us to come full circle and they start adding back all the features they've been removing over the last 5-10 years as 'revolutionary new advancements". You know I couldn't find a single phone, not one, of any class, and brand, with all the features of my LG V20 when I had to finally replace it a year ago?

What features did they remove that you want back?

I'm not familiar with LG phones....

That means a crash landing autogyro is "super safe" as the landing actually helps keeping the rotor running. A crash landing is basically no big difference to a normal landing. The only critical point is: oops something is wrong: I have to land NOW. It is in both crafts a a problem if you miss that point of decision.

And this is what I was trying to say, but in more technical terms. You know the subject, and I have little knowledge of the subject except for what's in the Wikipedia article.

Submission + - Twitter.com now redirects to X.com, nixes Firefox's Enhanced Tracking Protection

united_notions writes: Anyone with Twitter.com bookmarked will now be automatically redirected to X.com.

Simultaneously, X.com no longer allows access from Firefox when blocking cross-site trackers and other privacy-indifferent bloat. Users receive a message "Firefox’s Enhanced Tracking Protection (Strict Mode) is known to cause issues on x.com". Click the shield in the menu bar and disable Enhanced Tracking Protection, and it's all back to normal, but at an obvious cost. Naturally reports are piling in on X.com and elsewhere.

Hi, I'm an FAA certificated commercial helicopter pilot.

Good! You may be able to tell me if an idea of mine is any good. Earlier in this discussion, I suggested using an autogyro instead of a helicopter because it doesn't have to trade airspeed for lift and still has enough lift to land if there's an engine failure. What do you think of the idea? Does it seem practical or am I all wet?

Actually, if you don't need 3D movement or hovering, you don't need to design anything new. You can use something that's been around now for just over a century: an autogyro. Very short take off and landing, quiet and if the engine fails in flight, the rotor still has enough lift to let you land smoothly and safely. Why aren't they being used for this now? Probably because it's old technology and most of the designers today don't even know about it.

Perhaps Nixon had hoped that China would westernize in a matter of decades. That clearly didn't happen, but they're on the path

Oh for sure, Nixon and Kissinger both thought westernizing China would be a good thing.

They were wrong...it DID bring them more into the fiscal powerhouse status, but the CCP behind this, is not westernizing, and they use a VERY heavy hand to ensure they don't lose power.

As I mentioned before...they are using the benefits of more interactions and selling to the west, but using their iron fist over their country and people to trade unfairly and they use the freedoms of the west against us....I hardly would say they are on the "path" as you described.

The CCP will eventually fall, just like the European monarchies did.

I wouldn't hold my breath on this one...at least not for what I would guess would be a long number of lifetimes would anyone see this happen....just my best guess tho.

These phones, both iOS and Android, have basically been feature complete for the past decade or more. There's not a compelling objective reason to buy a new one every 2-3 years, and it's inexcusable for the manufacturers to not support them security-wise through their entire expected hardware lifetime.

I'm quite happy in general with my current iPhone.

My ONLY reason right now, to contemplate maybe swapping out the 12 max pro...for the coming 16...is the fact that I'd like to be able to shoot ProRes Log footage with my phone, and that's not an option for my phone right now.

But I don't need this tomorrow...and my phone is working great. But there occasionally are features that are enticing to trade up a little early.

We've got problems in the US with young people in huge debt, the education system sucks....what should be lower middle income families not being able to afford gas, bread and eggs....and the Feds big accomplishments are laws making fucking entertainment ticket prices "transparent"?

Seriously?

The only more laughable thing is...this is the stupid crap they are crowing about accomplishing this during this election season.
