There is another option. He could go into the energy business and build his own turbines. Get a business loan to cover the start-up cost. Shouldn't be hard as the return is guaranteed as long as there are no legal issues feeding some megawatts into the grid.

Another option is crowd funding. We have had some of that in Europe, people all buy a small share in a turbine/wind farm and then get a return from it.

One of the great things about renewables is how they democratize energy production in this way. Even a few million for a small wind farm is within reach of small business owners or groups of citizens.

Or do I have my spaceships mixed up?

If by "about to", you mean September of next year, then maybe it might, but I suspect you're thinking of the Boeing Starliner crewed test in a couple of days. Completely unrelated.

  • Soyuz: Russian capsule (and service module and orbital module, but the capsule is the interesting part) used for getting people back from ISS (capacity 3).
  • SpaceX Dragon: U.S. capsule used for getting people back from ISS since April 2021 (capacity 4).
  • Boeing Starliner: U.S. capsule intended to have a second alternative to Dragon for ISS flights (capacity 7).
  • Orion: Combination of a capsule (Lockheed Martin) and crew module (Airbus) for Artemis missions (capacity 4).

They're all capsules, but Dragon is basically intended as a replacement for Soyuz, Orion has the ESM (European Service Module) attached, which lets it be useful as a habitat for longer missions, and Starliner has more crew and cargo capacity, I think.

The other key difference is that Orion is designed for reentry from higher altitudes (more heat shielding) than Dragon or Starliner, which are both designed only for LEO (e.g. ISS). A version of Soyuz (Zond 5) did fly past the moon, but I have no idea if the current versions are built to withstand high-altitude reentry.

You need access roads and (underground) power lines. That cuts the land up into smaller parcels that can't be plowed or harvested easily using large farm technology. Although I think a smart wind developer could probably work with a farmer to lay out pylons and roads.

Grazing cattle is reasonably compatible with such structures. I've seen a lot of cattle grazing in and around high voltage transmission line corridors. It shouldn't be too much trouble to teach the cows to duck every time a blade comes around.

I'm not certain that will do anything to defend the 2A on the face of it. There are just as many young people interested in shooting sports as there are boomers.

But pegging the voting age to the same as the right to keep and bear arms might be one approach. If one is responsible enough to own arms, one is responsible enough to vote.

They really don't seem to know what to do with Ahsoka as an adult. I guess they don't want her to do anything too interesting as it would screw up continuity, but she made basically no difference to anything in her TV show. She might as well not have been there.

Maybe part of the problem is that Mark Hamill is getting on now, and it's expensive to employ and digitally de-age him for too many scenes. There is an obvious conflict there - Luke trying to rebuild the Jedi Order, Ahsoka having seen how flawed it was and wanting nothing to do with it even before Order 66.

She just doesn't seem to have a purpose or an important role to play in anything now.
