FWIW, /. seems to have gotten better in the last day or so. Pages are still misformatted a good bit of the time, but at least I'm not getting nearly as many 50x errors.

Actually, I find that particular rule to be the worst because anyone who bothers to type their comment elsewhere (for spelling and grammar checking), then copy it over gets slapped for not taking a decent amount of time to type it. (Yes, that's me when I know my comment will be longer than a paragraph or two.)

(Albeit I suppose the reason for the time limit is to stop the spammers who insert pretyped text and submit repeatedly. Yet another thing ruined by scum.)

I wonder how they are going to do that, because when I plug in my iBook configured to DHCP, I can just surf fine. It's a friggin router, I tell ya! But what do I know.

Of course they can. I know that and have known that for a loooong time. However, they don't. After all, plugging in the iBook worked.
There is no form of authentication (except the NT Domain, but I only need TCP/IP for internet connection). In the case of the iBook they can only see that a machine with a certain IP is connecting to the internet. For them it must look like a "ghost" machine somewhere

Also: don't forget that the MAC address of your NIC can be changed ;-) I only need the MAC address o

However, I do download both the front page and journal.pl (latest entries) to my palm and skim those on the commute home...if something perks my interest, then, well, here I am.
