Submission + - Federal appeals court says EPA can force power plants to cut mercury emissions (washingtonpost.com) 1

mdsolar writes: "A federal appeals court on Tuesday upheld regulations adopted by the Environmental Protection Agency to cut mercury and other emissions from large power plants, a setback for states and energy trade groups that have been challenging Clean Air Act regulations during the Obama administration.

The decision by a three-judge panel at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit means that coal- and oil-fired plants must purchase scrubbers and other equipment to prevent 91 percent of mercury from being released into the air during the burning of coal.... The Department of Energy forecasts that capacity retirements will reach 60,000 [megawatts]"

And yet, that is a joke. China emits more than 1/3 of the CO2 emissions in the world today. America is below 15%. And Europe-OECD is actually ABOVE America. The problem is, that IPCC normalizes in bizarre fashions. The idea that CO2 emissions are compared in a national way is a joke. Germany's emission are climbing fast and yet, total emissions are below America. Many nations in Europe are fairly low, and yet, in terms of CO2 / $GDP, they are monster high.

I mean, I hold a Masters in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College, with an emphasis in the Law of Armed Conflict. I've also been around the block a little bit. I'll buy off on your "press releases hardly ever reflect what goes over secured communications" observation.
Nevertheless, the geo-strategy is as plain as the dumb on your Congressman's face: Russia is on the march, and the POTUS is in the fetal position. There is precisely shag-all going on, in a preparatory sense, to prepare any sort of response. Oh yeah: the BLM thinks it found Crimea somewhere in Nevada.
