Instead of holding the people who commit crimes responsible for their crimes, you blame advertising for making them want to commit crimes. Typical liberal bullshit.
There is such a concept as aiding and abetting, or being an accessory to, a crime. Many people have been tried and convicted who themselves did not directly commit a crime.
If you don't believe that concept is applicable here, I'd like to know why. If someone else believes it does apply, I'd like to know their reasoning as well. I don't see how "liberal" or "conservative" has anything to do with it. It's a question of ethical responsibility, not political ideology. By failing to understand that, you're handwaving and dismissing a valid and worthy question about the nature of pervasive advertising and its effect on the population.
One would kind of hope that the states are doing their own economic analyses. The ones that found a minimum wage hike would be most productive and sustainable for their economies did so; the ones that didn't, didn't. Given how much cost of living and average income vary across the nation, it's hardly surprising that some places would want a different minimum wage than others.
While the idea was developed with a mind toward the quantum multiverse, the result is effectively the same for any multiverse model which allows for infinite universes. It doesn't really matter whether they are the branching kind or the spatially separated kind.
Yes, quantum suicide. The idea is if you attempt to kill yourself, your consciousness persists only in the subset of universes where the attempt fails, and can become justifiably suspicious that, in its own experience, every effort prove ineffective.
However, I think it is a bit small minded to use this only to test the muiltiverse hypothesis. Given that it's true, why not build a huge robust death chamber which you activate based on, e.g., whether or not you win the lottery, whether or not you quantum tunnel to an alien world, whether or a friend comes by with free pizza.
I admit that cruising the multiverse in a giant suicide chamber is not quite as romantic as other science fiction. . . .
Well, we paid for all that with $17 trillion of debt, and a behavior/thought process that it was ok, starting with Reagan and continuing to this day.
Other countries are just waiting for it all to collapse and pick our bones.
When Reagan took office federal debt was a little over 2T and went up to a little over 4T when he left office. Clinton took it from a around 6 to around 7. The current administration has seen it go from around 9 to around 17. Maybe you haven't kept up on current events but there hasn't been much union busting, new free trade treaties, or deregulation of wall street in the last 6 years.
It's called eating well, exercising and losing a significant amount of weight.
I know, I came very very close to having it. Break the sugar addiction, quadruple your vegetable intake, vastly reduce your sugar / heavy foods intake and do a little, tiny bit of basic light exercise.
In a couple of years, guess what,...?
This is absolutely terrible medical advice. Decades of research shows it has a terrible success rate, and, of those who it works for, 95% it eventually fails long-term.
If this advice were a pill, the FDA would never approve it, and people like me and probably you would call it a scam.
There should be a pill for that -- or a lab-grown kidney on a scaffolding for that
Generic, knuckle-dragging rebels one step away from cavemen, no. Former Soviet military with experience of a 1979-era system, yes. There's probably a numner therr. However, I still think it's a loan with helpers. They're just code red, ass deep in the worst case scenario of needing to CYA with fallback stories.
"In our defense, nobody was doing that yet to prove it profitable. Now that we know it is, research me too!"

BTW, our data center core is running twin 40GB connections for 80 GB total network load, but were not really seeing anything using 10GB off a single node yet, except the SAN. Our Metro Area Network links are is being upgraded to 10GB as we speak. The "network is slow" is not really an option.

As usual, Microsoft is late to the party, playing, "Me too!"
No, but if you go through the edits of that article there was once a reference to me. Thus proving, anyone can edit Wikipedia. And further proving that useless information can be and often is removed.

To agents in the NSA: It doesn't matter if 999 of 1000 of you are honest. All it takes is one G. Gordon Liddy type who ignores requirements for warrants to listen in on political opponents, and the whole thing is worthless. Possibly that is also the real intent, easy obfuscation of ultimate corruption.
Known historical democracies collapse when they "temporarily" give emergency powers to someone. Greece, Rome, Germany 80 years ago.
And you're participating in this modern panopticon as a rube while someone, maybe next to you, spies for a party or powerful faction.
