Whilst the proliferation of easy credit shoulders a lot of the blame, a significant amount still falls onto the shoulders of the credit addled. They could say "no" when the bank offers them an easy loan. They could say "no" I dont need an expensive car. They could say "no" to credit and pay cash/debit at the store.

They could say "no" to credit, live miserly, and then get in debt anyway due to, say, medical bills. Or they could use credit and at least have good memories on their deathbed.

No, but he has to anyway, since the car manufacturers bought up and destroyed public transport and city planners make sure it's almost impossible to live near work and services.

That's why some antivirus companies deliberately change the names when reporting, from whatever the author wants it to be called (when they can tell.) They don't want to provide them notoriety under their chosen alias.

Minecraft does not demand a whole lot of CPU without complex mods, but it wants a whole lot of GPU and a whole lot of RAM. Only full-on gaming PCs (in households, anyway) tend to have both.

Minetest takes a lot less GPU and RAM, but takes a lot more CPU. You can run it on crappy intel integrated graphics that come with an Atom, but it will crater the Atom.

And if there is no such service, I'll just get another hobby. I hate ads that much.

Perhaps, but I subscribe because I get ad free programing. if they want to show ads thats fine, I'll just move on to something else. I'm not angry, just voting with the wallet.

I'm in favor of that, I just wish they'd had the balls to switch the names of headers etc. so that it could coexist peacefully next to openssl, because that's going to be the reality for a while. I've found patches for libressl compatibility for some applications, and rolled my own in a couple of cases, but what a PITA.

The one place minecraft is notably better than minetest is in the interface. Are there any mods for minetest that really help that?

What I think actually happened is that Uber treated the Robotics Engineering Center as a startup with a set of internal working relationships and expertise that they wanted. Since they couldn't actually buy the Center they just hired away all the researchers.

So the employees rather than shareholders, managers or the CEO got a fat paycheck for being good at their jobs. That's communism!

Actually, Tron is the one place where that might actually make sense. All their technology is vector-based, right? What if they got infected by a bitmap virus? You could have some really bitchin' visuals.

I would argue that Star Wars is scifi, commonly pronounced "skiffy" amongst the nerdiest of nerds, because it attempts to have scientific explanations for things — but they are crap.
