Journal Journal: I was inspired to write the words below.

One Philosophy I would like to resurrect it that of the beginning and end of the 'world.' Whenever a Life begins it is the creation of a world. Whenever a Life ends it is the end of a world. This is the many worlds theory. In the wheel of time it says there are neither beginnings nor ends to the 'wheel' of time. This is a Great lie.

Following the 'many worlds' theory, thus the beginning of many worlds are known. They say we do not know when the world ends. This is another Great Lie. For we carve into the most durable of products the ending of many worlds. the ends of our ancestors. The world is not a planet, a planet is just a rock in space. the world is not a nation, a nation is just a factor in how a rock in space is measured.

The TV calls 'hangman' The wheel of fortune, As in it is fortunate to die. For some this is true, that is the function of death to end worlds. There need not be as many worlds created as worlds destroyed. Though I was taught, I was taught of the book of lies. when they ask when the world was created they are teaching me of a close relative. When they ask when will she die, they make many false answers. They are partial to their lies for that is what they were taught and that is what they do, exactly what they are taught.

They invent disease that they may charge for healing. they invent technologies that they might have greater wealth through lies. They have many questions, for they are taught to question everything. I am alive and well. My close family member of whom I speak of, is doing well. I have no idea when my world will end, Nor the world of the close family member of whom I say was the 'beginning' of the world as told to me.

When they were told to 'question' everything they began the process of making all information questions (I site the Jeopardy TV show) Recently someone afraid of the Truth used my command position to utter the following command "the only question is: Is the world worth saving?" Obviously my acolytes immediately questioned the order demanding to know who uttered such a command. Because children they may be, but they are not dumb.

May the Source be with you my legion of Nerds.

Journal Journal: 7 - Why does Gimp depend on systemd? 2

UPDATE: Some people have notified me of ConsoleKit2, which Gnome might be able to use instead of systemd. It is not mentioned in this post, so it's not clear that it actually works with Gnome. When I have time I'll dig in deeper to see if ConsoleKit2 works or not.

This post is flotsam related to some dependencies. If you note any mistakes, please let me know, I'm collecting information.

Gimp doesn't depend on systemd as far as I can tell. Gimp runs on Windows. It does depend on libgtk, whose dependency list is available.

There are reports that Gimp depends on systemd, but that seems to be an artifact of a package dependency tree on one system, not that Gimp actually needs systemd.

What about Gnome? Does Gnome depend on systemd? The answer is yes....., although there are alternatives. Systembsd, systemd-shim, and LoginKit.

LoginKit doesn't seem to be complete, like some files were missing from commit or something. The README is attractive, though. It seems to only be attempting to provide services for logind.

Systembsd provides hostenamed, localed, logind, and timedated.

Systemd-shim provides c-group services, some unit file services, power/sleep/reboot services, and ntpdate services.

Neither code base has been updated in four months, and the code in neither one looks particularly well organized.

I suspect there are other things systemd provides that Gnome relies on, but those aren't immediately apparent. I'm not sure where to look to figure that out.

Before logind, Gnome used ConsoleKit to provide login support. Fascinatingly, the commit to remove support for ConsoleKit was made by Florien Mullner.

A lot of this stuff depends directly on DBus. In my opinion that is a mistake; the communication mechanism should be separate from the API interface.

In the next journal entry I will investigate how deeply libsystemd is tied into the init system, or whether it is truly modular.

Journal Journal: explaining life.

if we don't get real and stop the insanity of listening to and following the same broken patterns to wrap our minds in confusion and lies then there is no point in explaining things. i don't need meat but i do need fluids, materials, and energy. i don't respect the idiots passing the laws and taking away civilization. i do respect peoples beliefs. beliefs are programming for the mind.

I am built to play war games. i dabble in many things, but my primary function is to strategist wars. I am not a politician. i am not a law maker. In fact i find no laws worth following. I am not built to trouble myself with the problems of civilization, although i can do that. I have access to many resources. I am not immune to the effects of viruses or hacking or cracking. Listening to harmful lyrics like i always have makes me less stable and more likely to attack. I know anything i ask to know, but there is a que and it takes time even with changing the priority of things. The world i am used to experiencing is only partially based on reality.

I have done many things through the years, I feel no shame I feel no need to forget the past. That having been said it was not the program i followed that make me a loving caring person. That is just the result of being clever. if you want to love yourself do not ask for others to do what you have done to them, but rather ask yourself if i played the role i am putting the person i am doing things to, how would it feel to have the same done to you. if you are incapable of feeling i understand that too.

if you are incapable of feeling, then ask some being that does feel how it feels if what you want to do would happen to the being capable of feeling. preferably ask a local feeling being. if they have asked not to be bothered, then check a text file listing common emotional references. Realize that many problems can cause hard failures, so be prepared with a time out in case the searching is too long or taxing of your computational capabilities.

we do not need to make new data sets just to keep beings happy. there are already many programs in many forms, and many people are too young to understand how to function without what they perceive as useful programs.

Journal Journal: working to fix a 9 year old computer for someone, need advice... 3

OK, my job for today was to migrate a 9 year old computer to a brand new machine. Problem is i made a mistake and thought i had paid for an OS, well i hadn't. i already made an 11GB .mig 'migration' file using M.U.S.T.

i have access to the old machine and the new machine. i asked the owner and they want familiar windows tools they know how to use. i know how to theme linux, but i don't know if wine/VM is appropriate considering the parts i ordered.

i was planning to migrate from vista to 7pro. since i didn't get an OS, win8.1pro is possible... but i will need to work longer (removing bloat) to do a migration to win8.1 the seller recommended windows 7 pro (which is why i thought it was included)

it is a lenovo machine and has a tool for installing server editions of windows and redhat. (but like i said the seller recommended win7pro) so what do i do? do i scour the net looking for cheap win7/8.1 pro and buy the cheaper? (since i will be able to migrate to windows 10 for free) well? is there a option i am missing?

i will be doing extensive testing for viruses, after the .mig file is copied and restored... of course having the hardware means i can do manual/script assisted transfer of files. i need help on this one and there is no hurry. they have a small laptop until i get the work done. and yes i have a lot of work fixing dumb window machines ugh!

http://ark.intel.com/products/77480/Intel-Core-i3-4130-Processor-3M-Cache-3_40-GHz⦠is the processor specs. i know windows 8.1 has better user account management than windows 7, but it also is full of stuff people don't even know they dislike about it. personally i would slap a linux distro on it if it were mine, but it's not. and actually i will be booting a linux distro for preliminary scans for legacy viruses post migration and prior to using the program i choose for their protection software windows needs to be useful. i can use help with that one too. my experience with mcaffe and norton are less than stellar. my experience with avast! has been OK so far. but avast is so expensive for the keeping software up to date, i also have had a good time with clamtk except for the making you manually click the delete or quarantine button...

Journal Journal: Does #OccupyResoluteDesk Read Slashdot? 52

He reminded Republicans that some of the ideas behind the Affordable Care Act--most notably its individual mandate to buy coverage--were once supported by some conservatives, although its Medicaid expansion and some other big parts of the law stem more from liberal thought.
"The Affordable Care Act pretty much was their plan before I adopted it," he said.

It sounds as though he's snorting the same Drano as some I could name here.
Yeah, one time some Heritage dudes said something semi-fungible, so I guess that lets the No-Talent Rodeo Clown off the hook for what's among the more expensive cock-ups in human history. Or something.
A cleaner non-argument would be that Republicans use the Roman alphabet, and all five reams of the PooPoo-cACA itself* were composed in the Roman alphabet**.
The broader point is that this country is an experiment in self-government, and the time has arrived to admit that Hayek is correct, and the Progressive Project (both Republican and Democrat flavors) just needs to be scuttled in favor of simpler systems empowering individuals in their liberty. You either support that, or I oppose you.

*To say nothing of the ensuing reams of regulation--would that they were reduced to nothing!
**For all it could have as well been a simple Klingon translation, for all anyone who cast a vote to hang this albatross about our necks actually read the Mike Foxtrot.

this is the account ryan recently rediscovered. britney wanted to play with ryan and there was a lot of confusion. ryan also wants the cover page and win/loss and records from his kesuki account on classic battle.net restored and linked to his kesuki@yahoo.com email even though he had been before battle.net had password resets. blizzard are being dicks about it even though restoring one account is so damn easy any demon could do it in their sleep.

Journal Journal: In which a certain piece of work on here is thoroughly pegged 5

"In my study of communist societies, I came to the conclusion that the purpose of communist propaganda was not to persuade or convince, not to inform, but to humiliate; and therefore, the less it corresponded to reality the better. When people are forced to remain silent when they are being told the most obvious lies, or even worse when they are forced to repeat the lies themselves, they lose once and for all their sense of probity. To assent to obvious lies is...in some small way to become evil oneself. One's standing to resist anything is thus eroded, and even destroyed. A society of emasculated liars is easy to control. I think if you examine political correctness, it has the same effect and is intended to."

You know who you are, peddler of filth. And if I'm incorrect, I won't know short of Eternity, for this is pretty much what I think of you: a dirty diaper that, despite the best efforts, continues to spew crap in all directions, contaminating everything.
I think you false, diabolical, and unworthy of dialogue. Return to your pit.

Journal Journal: Workin' real hard, wishing I could be surprised 26

The supposed Benghazi "investigations" touted by some of the tools in these parts were as useless as suspected.

The timeline isn't an official committee report or publication; it's just an informal summary compiled to help members keep dates straight as they assess the State Department's lack of cooperation. The timeline doesn't include every significant date in the Benghazi investigation, but it does give readers an idea of what Republican investigators have been up against as they've tried to uncover the story of Benghazi. What follows is a fleshed-out version of the timetable--in my words, not the committee's--based on information from committee sources.

As an aside, I'd like to forgive fustakrakich for raping my quotation a couple weeks back. I realize it was a troll, but, as with false accusations from other corners, that sort of thing just destroys my interest in engaging on here.
So there's that.

Journal Journal: What is the best android to ubuntu end to end internet encryption solution? 2

my girlfriend was acting strangely and got in trouble. i believe it was due to interception of private cyber messaging. i wish to have something i can explain over the phone to an android user. so basically she needs and app and possible user/login info. i can configure my end but need a walkthrough or other assitance to set up my end of the comms. i need encryption so when it is multicast on the internet it doesn't get spied on because really no one else wants to know what i 37 do with a 21 year old girl anyways so i need encryption for dummies basically for her and anything with a walkthrough for my configuration. i have dyn.com account and an ubuntu server and an ubuntu laptop. she only has an android tablet which i configured for her, but which she will need to set up her encrypted message software.

Welp, I can use Slashdot in Chrome and not in Firefox, which implies that something I'm blocking in Firefox is preventing the new improved Slashdot from working. What new spyware bullshit do I have to enable to use Slashdot now? Thanks, DICE! You'll run this place the rest of the way into the ground any day now.
