Comment Kubuntu at home, Win7 at work (Score 1) 417

Air National Guard computers at work, so it's Windows 7, locked down with a virus scanner that does a FULL SCAN of EVERY DAMN FILE everyday! Our only option is to "postpone for one hour". Takes about 15 minutes from once it's turned on to being able to work. Everything else is locked down, even forbidden to adjust the clock if we wanted to. Home is Kubuntu computers (11.04) and a Win7 box for various games that I'm too lazy to get working under Kubuntu. Kid's box is a dual-boot of Vista and Kubuntu 11.04. Take away the $25 a month, and every time the phone is turned off, it returns to factory default and loses everything.
You were not allowed to import your own ring tones, but had to download from their list.

'm sure we're about to see years of commentary on the shooting that happened today at Virginia Tech. 32 people are dead, because of one murderer who (by current reports) was armed with a couple of handguns.

Background reading for perspective:

1) A comparable attack happened at a law school in Virginia in 2002; the killer was stopped when 2 other students retrieved a handgun and subdued him.
