Journal Journal: Someplace to record it - chromium build chrome
Building chromium (aka google chrome from source)
I need someplace that isn't my backups to record this so here goes and have no other real home for it.

My build script (assumes ccache is installed, got the source initallu and you have got the depot_tools installed somewhere on your path)

export CXX='ccache g++-4.4'

"This URL holds the version of the latest revision to pass only unit tests (in debug mode). This can happen faster, so for most developers this is probably what you want since it will help you ensure that your changes work against a "fresher" version of Chromium."
Takes hours, needs lots of memory, DEBUG build is even worse.
Why gcc-4.4 apparently there is some bug that prevents it building with gcc-4.5 (Ubuntu 11.04 default), don't have it handy right now. Adding -Dwerror= to the make command may tell it to ignore the errors and continue but am yet to try this.
