Depends. Is Reddit entirely coded in memory-safe programming languages?

Boeing is responsible in the same way a car manufacturer is if a car is sent out with defective parts. Aren't the plugs supposed to stay in. Car owners aren't expected to disassemble their car doors or engines to verify everything is in place. Which car exploded when rear ended? That's not the buyer's fault.

They need to up their game on this. Fine the company. Ban stock buybacks. Something creative and actually impactful. Fines barely register as nuisance fees at their scale.

I'm guessing their thought is that getting in on an arms war can be a profit maker.

Google and Apple are media distribution companies. Watch to see who else jumps on. Not to say they're in the wrong, but a lot of people benefit from a measure of insecurity they control.

2) Use it as leverage during negotiations.
3) Say "we tried" when announcing the other product's new releationship.
4) Scrap it.

The thing is that Amazon has more negotiating clout. The original manufacturer may be selling to get X profit after bills and such. Amazon can get it made cheaper by negotiating it with other things being made, bringing the cost down. The issue is that they'd never have known this was a niche without the massive data trove to sort and sift. The main issue is the breach of trust and ethics on Amazon's side of the house. Keeping agreements is a bedrock of capitalism too. No trust, no trade.
