I am actually quite upset with the reporting of Cheney shooting off this weekend.

I have only seen like two journals about this incident, and both try to take a serious approach and indict Cheney for murder. This was obviously an accident and should be treated as such and laughed at.

I'll start with a couple obvious ones...

"The buckshot stops here." -- Dick Cheney

It is actually quite understandable that everyone is upset with Cheney. I mean, they guy doesn't even have the courtesy to finish the job, he just wings the lawyer.

Guns don't kill people, Cheney kills people. Or atleast tries, he's an old man now.

BCheney was very worried after the accident Sunday. He most adamant
prayer was, please God, do not let my friend die, or I'll have to get rid of my "Kennedy's car has killed more people than my gun" bumper sticker.

Now it is your turn...

NOTE:
There seems to be some sort of misunderstanding here folks. I am looking for Cheney shooting lawyer jokes and the like. Eglamkowski has the right idea. Everyone defending Cheney or talking about the proper way to approach a hunting party has the wrong idea. Please, get on topic.

  • Because Dick "Friendly Fire" Cheney would have been very dangerous to our troops in Vietnam- if he can't tell the difference between a quail and a 78 year old lawyer, why would we think he could tell the difference between GI Joe and Viet Cong?
    • The 78 year old lawyer was exactly where he shouldn't have been. The victim fell back to collect a fallen bird, and did not announce his return. In other words, he got hit partially out of his own stupidity - had he been following proper protocol while hunting, he wouldn't have been sprayed by birdshot.

      That being said... Dan Quayle was said to be terrified that it was Quail Season in Texas, knowing what a good marksman Dick Cheney is.

      • It's on both of them. As a hunter myself I'm glad that his friend is ok, but it was stupid on both their parts.

        In the end, you need to practice 'defensive hunting'. Assume that everyone around you is an idiot with a gun and take appropriate measures.

        His friend should have announced his return and Dick should have known where every person was at all times before he pulled the trigger. I've passed up many shots that would have been perfectly safe just because I didn't know where my hunting partners were or

  • (paraphrased) Dick Cheney had a bit of a P.R. problem, due to a shooting incident on Sunday. Seems he shot one of the guys he was hunting with. Would have been a terrible thing; but once people heard he shot a lawyer, his approval rating went up to 92 percent!
