Rackspace moves into online backup services

CdBee writes: JungleDisk, providers of an cross-platform application for automated backup and drive access across the web to Amazon S3, have announced that they will be acquired by Rackspace. Apparently they will also add support for Rackspace's new Cloud Files online storage service as well as S3, and they cite the current economic climate as an issue Jungledisk would have faced had they stayed independent. Clearly Jungledisk's software is to be a big part of Rackspace's marketing as they take on S3 in the same price range...
