Microsoft's Build developer conference is the latest tech event to be affected by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. From a report: The software giant was planning on holding its annual developer conference in Seattle from May 19th to May 21st, but Microsoft has decided to make it a "digital event."

  • This is already a digital event. When it is occurring, it is ON, when it is not occurring, it is OFF. That is two states, ON and OFF. Therefore not only is it a digital event, it is also a binary event!

    Imagine that! Useless drivel-speak is useless drivel-speak.

    • I'll bite. If you're in marketing (and this conference, like most others, is primarily about marketing) then no, there are more than the two binary states. There's the official conference presentations - the "ON" - but the "OFF" is harder to define. There's the afterhours. There's the email and social media stuff about this or that product launch/release that goes on as people are thinking about the conference, and follow-ups to the marks who swiped their badges or whose names were purchased from the at

    Maybe the swag bag should included a Microsoft Hololens, for that "wish you were here" feeling?
