    How I got scammed by PDF Guru

    Negative: How PDF Guru Scammed Me
    While browsing PDF Guru’s website, I came across an offer that stated their service could be used for a one-time payment of $0.99. I decided to try it out. However, a week later—without any prior notice, email, or my authorization—they charged $49.99 to the same card I used for the $0.99 payment.

    I immediately contacted their support team, and they claimed to have processed a $49.99 refund, instructing me to wait 14 business days (23 calendar days) for the amount to reflect in my account. I found this unreasonable, considering they withdrew the money in an instant, but refunding it supposedly takes weeks.

    After the 14 business days passed, the refund still hadn’t appeared. Despite their repeated claims that the money had already been sent, my bank confirmed that no such transaction was received.

    Summary: WHAT BOTHERS ME THE MOST >> This is a deliberate business practice. Sending a reminder email costs nothing. They choose not to because surprise charges are profitable. I'm not disputing that I signed up for a trial. I'm disputing the lack of basic customer courtesy that every legitimate subscription service provides. Netflix reminds you. Adobe reminds you. Even my local gym sends a text.

    If you do sign up, set a calendar reminder yourself—because they won't, and you'll be out $49

    Positive: No pros if they rob you.

    Negative: I signed up for DPF Guru's free trial. What I didn't expect: being charged $49 without any notification that my trial was ending or that a charge was coming. No email warning. No "your trial ends in 3 days" reminder. Just a surprise charge.

    Awful Customer Support - Never Acknowledged Subscription Cancellation Emails

I sent it to :support@pdfguru.com ; info@pdfguru.com; help@pdfguru.com; and social@pdfguru.com but none of these ever replied. I don't think any of these emails are working. I will give them 24 hours to reply to me otherwise, I will report PDF Guru to INTERPOL's Cybercrime Unit since this is a crossborder scam / fraud operation and to Cyprus Police's Office for Combating Cybercrime (OCC) since they are registered in Cyprus.

    When I finally noticed and called to cancel, they immediately offered me a 6-month refund—which tells me they know exactly what they’re doing. Even more insulting, during that same call they offered me a 2-year subscription for just 99¢ (smile), showing the whole “premium” price is a complete gimmick.

    To make matters worse, I discovered that the same exact product—with the same features—is available from another company for $49.99 per year, not per month.

    No agreement has been reached yet. I have asked these crooks to immediately provide me with proof of contract conclusion, proof of payment, and the results of the technical inspection according to Section 67 of the Telecommunications Act.
