Collaborative note-taking and documentation made easy

    Date: Jan 16 2024

Summary: For people and groups trying to organize their note-taking, documentation, and project management processes more effectively, Notion stands out as a feature-rich and adaptable application. It is appropriate for a variety of use cases because of its collaborative capabilities and versatility.

Positive: Notion is an incredibly flexible platform that integrates project management, documentation, note-taking, and collaboration functionalities into a single program. It supports use cases for both personal and professional use.

Negative: Although Notion provides offline access, its offline features are not as extensive as those of its online counterpart. When working offline, users might discover that some functionalities aren't available or that updates take longer to sync.

    Crafting personalized workspace for Productivity

    Date: Jan 04 2024

Summary: Overall Notion's rich feature set & cross platform accessibility make it a compelling choice, although i prefer everyone to go through basic trainings available on internet to understand the basics first.

Positive: Notion has like 1000's of options for Productivity which includes task management, Pages, Boards, Notes . These can be combines to use as an individual Or as a team working on a project we usually use it in our team of 3. The cross platform accessibility gives you great power & flexibility.

Negative: The major con is the limited file upload storage which is 5mb, i think this should be around 50mb. Also to begin using it at its full potential you must take a basic training other wise you will feel a bit lost into its number of features.

Notion keeps me organized and productive every day.

    Date: May 11 2023

Summary: This platform has been an invaluable tool for me in many different ways. One of the main benefits of Notion is its versatility, which allows me to use it for a wide range of tasks and projects. For example, I use Notion to keep track of my client information, including contact details, property preferences, and transaction history. This allows me to quickly and easily access the information I need when working with clients, and helps me stay organized and on top of my workload.

Notion has also been incredibly useful for project management. I use the platform to create and manage project schedules, track tasks and deadlines, and collaborate with my team members. Customizable templates and drag-and-drop functionality make it easy to set up and manage projects, even when working remotely.

Positive: This platform has a better productivity in its user interface unlike other platforms, in my opinion Notion is simple and elegant. The platform is easy to navigate, with drag and drop features and intuitive commands that make it easy to get started. In addition, Notion allows users to embed multimedia directly into their notes and documents, including images, videos, audio files, and web pages.

Notion AI is another prominent feature that I like about this platform. This powerful tool can be used for a variety of tasks, from summarizing existing content to generating new ideas and even writing drafts. Notion AI is also capable of correcting spelling and grammatical errors and can translate content into different languages. Additionally, the AI system can learn from user feedback and generate content based on millions of examples, making it an incredibly powerful tool for content creators and project managers alike.

Notion integrates seamlessly with other tools and platforms, including GitHub, Jira, Slack, and Google Drive. This means that users can easily sync their data across different systems and collaborate with others, regardless of the tools they are using.

Negative: It can be overwhelming for beginners or users who prefer a more structured and guided approach. Notion's high level of customization means that users must take the time to learn how to use it effectively and set up their own workspace, which can be daunting for some.

Another downside to this platform is that while Notion's project management capabilities are strong, they may not be enough for long-term or complex projects that require more advanced features. For example, Notion may not have Gantt charts, dependencies, workflows, or automation, which may limit its usefulness for certain users.

Notion AI is another area where the platform has some limitations. While it offers powerful features such as content generation and translation, AI can generate incorrect or irrelevant information or produce content that doesn't match the user's style or tone. Also, Notion AI requires an internet connection and may not work well offline, which could be a problem for some users.

The best knowledge management tool for productivity.

    Date: Apr 16 2023

Summary: In my day to day, Notion has been a game changer in terms of knowledge management and collaboration. Since I started using Notion, I have noticed a significant improvement in productivity and efficiency for both myself and my team. We have been able to streamline our workflows, communicate better, and stay on top of our tasks and projects. Notion has helped us in a number of ways that we hadn't even anticipated before.

One of the most significant advantages of Notion is its flexibility and versatility. We can create different types of pages for our notes, databases, calendars, dashboards, timelines, and more, and link and embed them together to create a holistic and dynamic structure for our information. This has allowed us to have a better overview of our work and a more organized way to access the information we need. We can also customize our pages with templates, icons, images, and more, to make them more engaging and intuitive.

Notion has also helped us in our team's communication and collaboration. We can share pages and databases with our team members and control their permissions and access. We can comment on pages and tasks, assign tasks to team members, and track their progress. This has made our team's communication more transparent, efficient, and accountable.

The AI feature in Notion has also been a pleasant surprise. We have used it to summarize documents, generate questions, rewrite sentences, suggest content, and more. It has helped us save time and get insights that we may have missed otherwise. We can also use it directly within Notion, without the need to use a separate AI-powered tool.

However, we also had to overcome some challenges while using Notion. The learning curve was steeper than we expected, and it took some time for us to become familiar with Notion's features and functionality. We had to watch tutorials, read guides, and experiment with different templates and page types. We also encountered some bugs and glitches while using Notion, but we reported them to the Notion community or support channels, and they were fixed promptly.

Notion may not have some features that we were used to having in other knowledge management software. For example, duplicate detection, page analysis, or crawlable analysis. We also had to find some workarounds to integrate Notion with some other tools or platforms we use, but it wasn't a dealbreaker for us.

Notion has helped my workspace to be more productive, efficient and organized. It has given us a connected workspace where we can manage our knowledge and information in one place. It has also given us a new way to collaborate and communicate with our team members. While Notion does have some challenges and limitations, we believe its benefits outweigh them and we would recommend it to other teams looking for a flexible and dynamic way to manage their knowledge and information.

Positive: As someone who has used Notion extensively, I can say that it is one of the most versatile and powerful productivity tools available on the market today. The connected workspace feature of Notion allows users to create different types of pages, including notes, databases, calendars, dashboards, timelines, and more, all in one place. This makes it easy to organize and manage information efficiently.

One of the biggest advantages of Notion is its vast collection of templates that users can choose from or customize according to their specific needs. The templates cover a wide range of use cases, including project management, personal productivity, education, design, and more. Not only do these templates save users time, but they also provide a great starting point for new projects.

In addition to its templates, Notion's interface is intuitive and aesthetic, which makes it easy for users to navigate and use. The drag and drop feature of Notion allows users to quickly and easily add and rearrange content, change page layouts and appearances, add icons and cover images, and use keyboard shortcuts. Notion is also available on different devices, such as web browsers, desktop apps, and mobile apps, making it accessible and easy to use on the go.

Another unique feature of Notion is its AI capabilities, which can help users with various tasks, such as summarizing documents, generating questions, rewriting sentences, suggesting content, and more. The AI feature is integrated directly into Notion, which means users don't need to jump between different tools to access it.

Overall, Notion is a powerful and flexible productivity tool that can help users organize and manage their information efficiently. Its connected workspace, templates, intuitive interface, and AI capabilities make it a valuable tool for individuals and teams alike. I highly recommend giving it a try if you haven't already.

Negative: Notion is a popular productivity tool that has been gaining a lot of attention in recent years. Its connected workspace and flexibility make it an ideal tool for knowledge management, project management, and personal productivity. However, as with any tool, Notion has its share of drawbacks, which users should be aware of before committing to it.

One of the main disadvantages of Notion is its steep learning curve. Notion has a vast array of features, functionalities, and integrations, which can be overwhelming for new users. However, once users get past the initial learning curve, they will find that Notion is a powerful tool that can be customized to suit their specific needs.

Another disadvantage of Notion is its lack of some features that users may expect from knowledge management software. For example, Notion does not have duplicate detection, page analysis, crawlable analysis, and other features that other knowledge management tools offer. Additionally, Notion's search functionality is not as robust as some other tools, which can make it difficult to find specific information within the app.

I encounter some bugs or glitches while using Notion or the AI feature. While these are relatively rare occurrences, they can be frustrating for users who rely on Notion for their work or personal productivity.

Moreover, Notion may not integrate well with some other tools or platforms that users may use for work or personal purposes. While Notion has a growing list of integrations, it may not work seamlessly with all tools. This can be particularly frustrating for users who rely on specific integrations to streamline their workflow.

Finally, I find some challenges when exporting or importing data to or from Notion. While Notion supports various formats for importing and exporting data, users may encounter issues when trying to move large amounts of data to or from the app.

Despite these disadvantages, Notion remains a popular productivity tool that can significantly boost productivity when used effectively. Notion's connected workspace, flexible structure, and customizable templates make it an ideal tool for managing knowledge and projects. Additionally, Notion's AI feature can help users with various tasks, such as summarizing documents, generating questions, and suggesting content, which can save time and increase productivity.

Notion Software: An All-in-One Solution for Task Management in Organizations

    Edited: Apr 19 2023

Summary: It's a fantastic productivity tool that has quickly become my go-to app for managing all aspects of my work and personal life. It's an all-in-one software that can be used for note-taking, task management, project planning, and much more. The best part is that it's highly customizable, allowing you to create the perfect workflow that fits your specific needs. Overall, Notion is a must-have tool for anyone looking to improve their productivity and organization. I highly recommend giving it a try.

Positive: One of the standout features of Notion is its ability to organize information flexibly and intuitively. Also, the templates provided by Notion are incredibly useful, and I've found them to be a great starting point for creating my custom workflows.

Negative: While Notion does have a mobile app, some features are not available on mobile devices. This can be a limitation for users who rely heavily on mobile devices for their work. Its formatting options are limited compared to other software. For example, it may not be suitable for creating visually appealing documents or presentations.

It keeps everything organized, both storage of ideas and collaborative note taking!

    Date: Mar 03 2023

Summary: The plan that is given to Notion is that it allows me to document all aspects of the work together with my work team, so this platform is more than just taking notes, it goes beyond that. It meets the need to have a space to have collaborative annotations and in addition to having personal spaces for multiple uses depending on what you want to annotate, there are no limits to this platform. I have managed to host a large part of technical documents so that anyone who needs it has a much easier way to access them without having to create websites or a blog to host useful information, in addition to the documentations that I have registered in Notion have been able to be understood thanks to the artificial intelligence that I applied to each of my annotations, so I can reach an audience that does not require so much technicality in my words, as artificial intelligence has also provided professionalism that requires extensive review and a huge technicality, something that with this tool I have saved a large part of my time in document reviews. I hope that my proposal to keep Notion offline for those cases in which you want to continue writing on a page or it is easier to keep records without necessarily having to be connected to the internet, also quick notes would be useful as I have already mentioned to be able to have notes of little information without filling Notion with large pages of little information.

Positive: Artificial intelligence helps a lot when it is necessary to rewrite a large amount of text, it has allowed me to have better documentation since I can have a rewrite with a more professional tone. Although they also have a variety of tones so that it doesn't all sound so technical and can be more easily understood by any reader, as they are in a casual, confidential, and friendly way, I hope they keep adding more tones so that the variety of tones you are dealing with can rewrite be very different. With Notion's artificial intelligence I have also been able to make summaries or make the content much longer, complementing the information that I already have written without losing the meaning or objective of what I am writing. Another aspect that this tool has helped me with is correcting grammar and spelling errors, it has been very useful since I don't have to do all this process manually, but simply select that option and magically everything is corrected, it even gives me some Suggestions for changing sentences between paragraphs so that you can better understand what I have written.

I liked the ease with which Notion offers its service, the quality of the templates is excellent, and it also allows the community to create their own templates allowing even more variety to be created, even each user has the right to publish paid templates without that there is any infringement, so the ease of offering templates is very great. Notion also offers guides and tutorials that have been very helpful when I want to understand certain features that I don't know how to handle very well, so it won't be easy to get lost. In case of not being able to understand something very well, the community is quite solid and huge that helps any user in case of not understanding something. These are the aspects for which Notion is an incredible tool, that you will always have efficient help beyond the technical assistance it has, so there will always be a solution for everything. Although there are certain features that I wish they would add to make this platform as seamless as possible, at least for me.

Negative: It seems strange to me how a high caliber platform like this cannot have a 100% Offline mode, many applications or platforms similar to Notion have this function. On the other hand, Notion can only keep the sheet that is open at that moment before without access to the internet, so it becomes useless to use this platform, not even to add simple notes. A basic example of how I would like to be able to use this platform in offline mode without Google Keep notes, these are synchronized on any device where the Google account has been opened with the notes and so regardless of whether there is no connection, they will be seen the notes already synchronized, you can also add notes and lists without any problem. This is what I want Notion to achieve, to be able to access all the sheets created without necessarily relying on the internet to access it. I can understand that when working collaboratively it is a problem because you will constantly have updates from other people who are involved in the development of a sheet, but for everything else like private or personal sheets it would be a good option since it would allow you to do a lot more in case of bad connection or simply not having internet in certain places where one is.

When it comes to sticky notes Notion doesn't have it, so it's essential to have quick notes and not be setting up a whole page to be able to jot down something short and quick because currently this platform is not structured to make simple annotations but rather an orchestra of annotations and database, but it would be nice to have small annotations that can be useful later. I have found ways to create sticky notes on the internet and they seemed like a good idea for a more organized space similar to what I am looking for, but it does not live up to the name "sticky notes" since you have to configure everything, that is, have a template , and then adding the notes from there having to remove words or spaces to put notes on top, is quite a process. So, a good idea is that in the main section of Notion, where all the notes are on the left, you can see a quick notes section where they are grouped to suit the user or have an automatic grouping method, all this in order to have annotations that are of few words and that are not so invasive.

Workspace that every professional should have.

    Date: Feb 07 2023

Summary: With this platform I have been able to have a centralized workspace where I can have different areas where I can have my notes, lists, follow-ups, teamwork spaces and much more. Notion solves the problems where I had different note-taking apps and now I have a single space where I can connect different platforms for the integration of project management and marketing platforms, which are the platforms I use the most today.

This platform offers the possibility of being able to follow up on all my ideas and also to be able to integrate my work team to be able to be connected working together and that they, in turn, can connect their own platforms to manage different types of information. but being able to import or export ideas from other platforms to this one and vice versa. In short, I have a space for the thoughts of different people within one place and everything stays organized.

One thing I forgot to mention is that I would like to have a place where I can add quick notes so that I can then embed those ideas into any created page or tag it. This would help to not have a lot of pages with little text but could have a small space to just focus on small notes or quick notes, as if it were a group of pages.

Positive: * The keyboard shortcuts are very complete and easy to use, they make it much easier when you want to edit a page since with the keyboard shortcuts, I can make changes to the text without having to use the mouse. What I found most powerful were the @ commands since it allows me to have different functions depending on the context, from mentioning a person to creating shortcuts to other pages within Notion and finally adding dates and their respective reminders that are synchronized within from Notion itself making a page more feedback and interactive.

    * It is intuitive, it is practically like using Google Keep but with more functionalities and the pages can be grouped within other pages so that everything is more practical to be able to have everything more organized. Its interface is very well structured since it allows easy access to all the pages and lists without taking so many routes since everything is grouped in a side panel where everything that has been created within Notion is displayed. The templates help a lot in the creation process since it provides a good structure of a page depending on what the page to be created is focused on, there are also templates created by the community that are professional and can be taken as a shortcut for a space depending on the needs of the user or the work team. Likewise, you can create templates to post, and they can be both free and paid templates.

    * Allows you to have an easy roadmap that can be added to the monitoring of lists or tasks within the same workspace as if it were any page created within this platform. The lists are also not only the typical lists created with confirmation boxes where a short description of the task is placed, there are also tasks or lists where their status can be labeled, and a description can be added within each page. with a list with checkboxes of the tasks carried out, that and much more can be created with the lists of this platform.

Negative: * When I want to work with this platform offline, it will not allow me to have all the documents if I had not opened them when I was online, I understand that the files that I have created on another device are not synchronized since for obvious reasons if I am in offline mode should not have access to such documents. However, it should have synced all my pages and lists once I'm logged into my Notion account so I can access my pages when I'm working offline. Yes, I can affirm that I can create pages and edit the ones that I have in offline mode at that moment, but I cannot do more than that, since if I want to review a page that has not been previously opened, I will not be able to view or edit, having to need to have an internet connection.

    * More advanced security is only available if you are on a business plan, this should not be a limitation at least on the Business plan as it limits you from having to upgrade to a business plan when it is not required. This gives a great disadvantage when it comes to integrating teams and sharing templates that are personalized and also can be sold without any permission. This makes it necessary to have internal rules that allow more security with custom templates, since sometimes certain users can abuse the trust of a work team or a small business. So, it would not be bad if they added more security to the templates to plans like Business which I consider that due to its characteristics it is the appropriate plan for small companies to have more security and privacy.

    * The integrations that this platform has are very good since they are very well optimized, but in general terms the integrations require a little knowledge in code so that they can work since the gallery of applications that are available are not very varied and also that If you want to integrate other platforms to Notion to carry out automations, you will need to connect everything through APIs that are available for each platform and be well documented so that there are no problems when applying said automations. That is why I hope that Notion will continue working so that they have more applications available in their connections section and that it does not involve using code in the process.

    Notion Review

    Date: Oct 18 2022

Summary: Notion works very well for startups, it can essentially run as your operating system holding valuable information and also act as a very flexible base for storage and other activities.

Positive: Notion is incredibly flexible, it can be a doc editor, hiring tracker, task tracker and more.
We used notion to pretty much handle most of our operations.

Negative: It can be a little slow at times, it's also very easy for it to get crowded and mixed with a bunch of things.
The search function is nice, but navigating through the sidebar can get tough very easily.

    Organization in one place

    Date: Sep 18 2022

Summary: I really enjoy using Notion in my daily routine, it is the best partner when it comes to knowing my full schedule for the day, for both business and personal matters. I have been using it for a while and it became my most used software. It helps keep everything about my life organized, it feels like a journal where I can write down every single thing and have it saved there so I do not forget about it. When it comes to projects for my business and organizing my old and new recipes, Notion works as a brainstorming tool that helps me sort out all the ideas that I can come up with to form something complete and accurate that works for my business. It helps me document all aspects of my business and have total control over them, it works as a calendar, a scheduler, a note taking platform, and more, being a versatile software, even though it took me a while to have full control over it by learning all the tools and different features, it has insanely helped me organize my life in a single place that I can access anywhere and anytime I want, having access to many important documents, spreadsheets, and many other important metadata that is safe in Notion.

Positive: Notion is one of the best tools for total organization of my life. The interface is so clean and different from other tools out there and it provides great visuals when it comes to creating pages and books, it can be fully customized to look the most pretty and the most organized ever, the aesthetics of this software provide more ease when it comes to organization and balance between different projects, it has no limitations when it comes to creativity and allows me to style all the pages the way I want them to. Creating a template is not very difficult, and because of that, I feel like Notion is the software that offers the most creative freedom because if its pre-built templates do not convince me for a certain type of project, I can always create my own and adjust it the way I prefer the most.
Notion has a wide range of tools that allow for different looks of the sections to be customized in different ways depending on the type of organization that I want to have or the kind of look that I want it to have, it comes with different templates that adjust to different type of tasks and projects, I like how everything comes together with the right template and how it has all the tools necessary to speed up the creation and management of pages, such as the drag and drop tool, importing multimedia and information into a page for its creation has never been easier.
Additionally, Notion can be accessed through different devices and synchronizes easily between all of them, it works very well on a mobile device and it does not have that awkward feeling that many other tools have on mobile, because it feels the exact same intuitive way that the desktop application feels like and it is as complete as the desktop application, without any limits, and it is a very inexpensive and accessible software.

Negative: At the beginning, I think that Notion has a hefty learning curve, it definitely has its difficulties when it comes to figuring out how all the tools function in different templates and what all the templates can do, but luckily, it is actually not that difficult once you have read through all the tutorials and guides that they attach at the beginning. However, one thing that I do dislike about Notion as I am currently using it, is the fact that the search function is not properly optimized to speed up the process of searching for a specific page or document that is very old, there should be more keywords and filters added to optimize this process because scrolling through different pages with the same word becomes very problematic and takes too long, as well as the fact that the more I scroll the slower that the application becomes by loading all the old pages, and it is a bit annoying whenever this happens and I am looking for an older document.

    Incredible Organization App

    Date: Feb 08 2022

Summary: Overall, I have been so benefited by this application and the help it has offered in organizing my life.

Positive: This app has truly helped me organize the countless lists I have been keeping on my phone and streamline the tasks and things I try to remember into one cohesive place.

Negative: The setup process can be a little tedious, I understand that the already filled-out sections of the app are there for inspo, but it causes a lot to be edited.

    Date: Feb 03 2022

Summary: I LOVE Notion. It's become a daily tool for not only myself but for the rest of the team. It's excellent.

Positive: Notion is excellent. It provides enough customization for a non-technical user to be able to use it excellently.

Negative: I have yet to find ways to truly add more customized features. While I like how it is now, I sometimes wish there was more.

By far the best notes application.

    Date: Oct 09 2021

Summary: Overall, Notion is an all-in-one notes application available across all the platforms with features that increases productivity and decrease the workload by automating the workflow.

Positive: - The best part about the Notion is that it can be used across all the organization to keep track of the items all at one place.
    - Notion is a database in itself, it can track all the information of the user like calendar dates, records and tasks.
    - Different workspaces can be created for different tasks.

Negative: - Notion is a great application with uncountable features, but it can be a bit of a tricky application to wrap your head around it at first because of the immense amount of features it offers.

Genius tool for both personal and business

    Date: Nov 16 2020

Summary: The tool is SO versatile, can be used for both individual and collaborative use. I've literally used this for organizing my wedding plans, but also used it for work to organize my team's shared resources. The possibilities are endless.

Positive: Notion is hands-down THE best note-taking apps that I've ever used. You could use it for pretty much anything under the sun–project management for teams, creating lists or simple note-taking, knowledge management (you could organize all of your company's resources in one place and direct your team members there, such as for onboarding). I've heard it being called Word on steroids, although I'd say it can also be Excel on Steroids. Notion also has a huge variety of templates that can help you get started with a certain format, but also is helpful to give you ideas for how you can use the tool.

Negative: Because the tool has so many uses, there is definitely a learning curve of getting the hang of it, but it's definitely worth diving in to learn.

A revolutionary new approach to the oldest aspect of productivity

    Date: Sep 02 2020

Summary: I discovered Notion very recently and I'm just loving it. You can modify it to fit your needs as you change your roles and targets in life.

Positive: - I like how flexible the entire architecture of Notion pages is, everything is decided by the user and almost nothing is fixed.
    - The integrations with so many apps is amazing
    - Free for personal use!

Negative: - I would like to see more blogger oriented templates and optimizations.
    - The flexibility can be frustrating initially.
    - Some user-specific optimization can be done. eg. pressing the '/' key could show the most used fields first and the other ones later. I have to press the down arrow so many times every time I have to add a heading.
