Journal damn_registrars's Journal: Wait, how tall is the fuhrer again? 17

They keep claiming that he is 6'3". However we know that Obama is 6'1". here they are standing side-by-side. I think someone forgot his elevator shoes for that picture... here's another picture where Trump's two inches seem to have magically disappeared (or even changed sign). Once again, he still doesn't look taller.

I'm willing to skip the sitting pictures, because different people have different proportions and sit differently in the same chair. I have yet to see a single picture of the two men next to each other that supports the notion of Trump being the 6'3" that he claims.

Considering he is already making a fast claim at least honest POTUS in the history of our nation, it wouldn't surprise me if his height is a lie as well.

Wait, how tall is the fuhrer again?

  • None of those pictures show their full body, and really, who cares? As long as Obama has the bigger hands ... after all, we all know white boys can't jump.
    • The point is that basically Trump's entire life is a series of lies. He even lies about his physical traits, apparently because he is so used to lying that he can't seem to bring himself to be honest on anything. He willingly shits on the truth any time that he expects doing so will bring him more wealth and/or prestige. As we all know, even his last name is a lie.
      • And who really cares any more? It's not going to change anything. The time for that was during the nomination process. What's done is done, and the world better wish him all the best, because his success or failure as president is going to have a YUGE effect on everything going forward.
        • I can not imagine a reason to wish him success. As far as I am concerned he is a terrible human being. As I already stated pretty well his entire life is one giant lie after another. It is nearly impossible to imagine a scenario where his success could possibly be good for me, and I can imagine many scenarios where his success would be terrible for me. I am hoping that he quickly gets exposed as being part of a giant administration-ending scandal, and hopefully it includes both Pence and Ryan as well so
          • So you want the whole country to do the equivalent of cutting off your nose to spite your face?

I figured if I were elected president, I would have removed all sanctions against Russia and given them most favored nation status - we do it with worse governments, such as Saudi Arabia, and it's in everyone's best interests that Russia succeed as a country. With domestic success, there's less need to divert the people from economic hardship with foreign wars, where even the winners lose.

            We need a counter-weigh

            • There is no spite here. This is about preventing the end of our democracy and perhaps the end of democracy worldwide. We have just inaugurated not only an arrogant ignorant dickwad who is less informed than a typical high school senior of the workings of our high school government, but we have done so at a time when the world needs logical and intelligent leadership.

              We have failed the world

And it would be one thing if the US were a smaller player on the world stage. Regardless of your take on what
              • Democracy has nothing to do with it. The United States hasn't been a representational democracy in quite some time, and you know it. It probably never will be again, not unless and until it splits up. Once democracies get too big, they simply no longer work. Great Britain no longer is, and India? Give me a break. Corruption and influence peddling, once they go to far, destroy democracies from within.

There's really no other solution to going from a republic to either separate nations or a federation.

                • I've suspected for some time that the US has been hurtling towards final fragmentation into independent nations. I was all but convinced we would be going down that path - perhaps violently - if Hillary won the white house. Honestly if she had won (nevermind that of course she did win the election) we probably would already see either secession proposals from Texas and Alaska or the very open build-up of armed "militia" groups. The GOP is too much in love with Trump to realize they just appointed a fasci

I like the way his camp talks about "alternate facts". "Alternate facts" is simply a politically correct label for "damned lies". And he, the Liar in Chief, fooled all you yokels!

The only good that can become of a Trump presidency is that it may destroy the Republican party.

      • The only good that can become of a Trump presidency is that it may destroy the Republican party.

I was telling myself that for a while; and then realized that it was just something I was telling myself to make me feel better. Trump couldn't destroy that party if that was his initial intent; they will happily swing their beliefs to whatever set brings them the most power. If he suddenly declared himself a Scietologist tomorrow, they would say that was the greatest philosophy they'd ever heard of. As it is I expect we'll see them distributing copies of "the art of the deal" at their next convention.

What I meant that with both houses of Congress, when the economy collapses after his trade barriers, Republicans will have all the blame. Trump probably believes his own bullshit.

          • They won't accept the blame. They will insist it was caused by Obama, and they will convince the media that their claim is true because the media is too confused by our new post-truth reality to figure it out for themselves.

It's no different from the legions of conservatives who can't seem to recall who was president 43. To them everything that went wrong between 2000 and 2005 was the (personal!) fault of Bill Clinton (with dashes of Lewinski thrown in as needed) and everything that went wrong between
          • Republicans will have all the blame.

What will that matter? Replacing them with democrats obviously doesn't work.. Until people work to vote them both out, all will be lost.
