I knew a guy that thought doing something like this was funny. He'd hold a lighter near his butt when he farted, and laugh about everyone's face when they saw the flame shoot out about four inches or so.

He stopped doing it when the seat of his pants (finally) caught fire.

I actually had a conversation with a vegan about this subject before. She swallowed, and I asked her why the protein in the semen didn't make her sick since she became ill after eating greenbeans cooked in beef stock and said it was because of the protein in that... She had no answer to that. I've fully intended to ask other vegans about the subject but I haven't had the chance.

Wow, pretty intense question.

I would be lying if I said I didn't think about it now and then, but having faced a suicide in my past (my older brother) I know how absolutely devestating it was on my family. I can truthfully say it certainly had the most impact on my life of any other single negative event. Also I have kids, so they keep me here :-)

It's nice to have the option, knowing that my suffering the slings and arrows of these outrageous fortunes are entirely voluntary and the contract can be terminated by either party at will. I do sometimes wish I would go to sleep one night and not wake up (especially when, say, my annual review is the next day, or I have to go to a luncheon with my GF's parents). i don't claim to be normal, but i have thought about suicide a lot. there were times as a teenager when i'd think about it at least daily.

over the past few years i've stopped thinking about it like i used to. if the thought ever does creep into mind, it's more a pondering of the concept than considering going through with it. but even that isn't so frequent. what i do think about is the question of what happens next. i'm not in a hurry to find out, but i spend a lot of time thinking about that.

Off the cuff answer:

When you "lose" something, it indicates you have entered a state where you will never get something back. I can "find" myself, but I can then later lose myself again, but I can't grow my virginity back :-) Though I suppose given enough brain altering substances/lobotomies, I could probably get my innocence back.

Is there anything else we "lose" that doesn't fit the above statements? (I will think about it and post if I think of any later)

Funny, I've travelled more in the 3 months or so since I got married than in the previous 32.7 years of my life.

Tuesday morning I woke up in Little Rock, AR. Wednesday morning I woke up in Jackson, TN. Thursday I woke up just south of Rockford, IL. Yesterday I woke up in Minneapolis, MN. This morning I woke up just south of Gary, IN. Tonight I sleep just outside of Louisville, KY.

My personal favorite is Fedora, however several Windows Weenies(tm) at the place I work are really excited about Unbuntu [ubuntu.com]. After looking at it, I would certainly say it is much more n00b friendly than just about any other distro. I think it is the next big thing in the Linux desktop arena.
