That does not address the original issue. Would you find it acceptable for someone to say "Maybe you should have taken a little responsibility and not spread your legs" to a woman? If not, why is it o.k. to say that to the guy?

I like how this issue is always 1-sided. It's a woman's choice if she wants to have an abortion, but the guy doesn't have a choice to not support the child if the woman wants to have it but he doesn't.

So out of curiosity, how do you justify that distinction? What is it about the $50 that makes the pilot suddenly less safe? Specifically.
The government isn't getting their cut, which means the pilot will soon be surrounded by men with guns. That's what makes them suddenly less safe.
You don't need to hire experts right off the bat. What you want to hire is someone who recognizes that they don't know the answer, and tells you that, and then immediately says they'd go research it to find out. "Can I Google that?" is a perfectly valid answer sometimes.
That's good advice. In my interview at my current job, I told my boss during my interview "I don't know how to do everything, but I can figure out anything." Thus far I haven't had anything thrown at me that I can't handle, but there were a few instances where I had to do some research to be able to complete a task.
So, the pendulum has finally swung back to center, where anyone with an ounce of intellect could have figured it belonged all along.

That's exactly it. There's no way for them to claim it's unintentional, as it takes intentional code to create this behavior. I don't know what on earth these people are thinking, but I won't be buying any "smart" TV that decides to share my conversations and injects ads where they don't belong. Same thing goes for Keurig and their DRM'd coffe makers or any other "smart" applicances. It seems that every "smart" appliance has a lot of foolish thinking behind it.

You can say bad examples are just for teaching materials, but if all students are ever exposed to are bad examples, it's going to be a lot harder for them become good programmers.
Sometimes you start out with a trivial example so students can grasp the concept more quickly, then you increase complexity.

It's news because it involves abuse of technology. Swatting is pretty heinous, especially since it can endanger an innocent person and is a gross misuse of police resources. All I can say is I'm glad they caught him, and if he's guilty he deserves to be locked up for a long time.
