People don't want to give up affordable cars for battery cars that cost $10k+ more, have less range, take longer to refill, and have battery packs that need to be replaced well before 200,000 miles.

Electric companies realize that transient alternative energy still requires full tradition infrastructure for weeks when the wind don't blow and the sun don't shine. This costs a lot for underutilized plants and peoples rates will skyrocket.

Mandating more auto inspections will lead to increased costs for consumers. Who drives old cars that are probably out of spec? Poor people. Why do you hate poor people so?

These things cost billions an billions, cause hardships that you have not considered, and are not extremely effective.

Exactly. How is this materially different from an integrated remote-access card and baseboard management controller? I'm at a loss why Intel used an Argonaut core for it, though. I'd have expected a lightweight x86, or maybe an ARM. However, all that is beside the point.

The main reason for all the hullabaloo is that the Intel firmware that normally runs on this coprocessor is delivered as a closed-source blob, which raises trust issues given how pervasive its access to the machine is. It's also had its share of bugs and exploits, some of which work even if AMT is turned off in the BIOS, since the coprocessor may still be doing mundane baseboard tasks like fan control.

Yes. I have the option to buy a 25BM/s line. The price is ridiculously high, however.

Residents in my neighborhood shouldn't be considered as having broadband since just about no one pays that much for internet (except my one neighbor who works in IT from home, and he deducts it as a business expense).

Good question. My best guess so far is an very aggressive marketing campaign ("every computer in a movie is a Mac", remember?) combined with a device that, despite having a lower hardware to that of competitors, do the work that target audience wants. And perhaps the most important part, is charged as a luxury item in such a way that the public believes that only wealthy and successful people can have one, so anyone who wants to look wealthy and successful do anything to get one too.

630 US$ ? Isn't that about the same price as an iPhone 5s, and less than the price of the iPhone 6/6+ ?

You must be confused. iPhones are free. It says so right on the top of this contract I just signed. Sure, I have to pay more than $2000 over the next two years but the phone is free! It says so right here!

Would the phone company lie to me?

Just one from many possible examples: Try watching a movie in 1080p on the IPhone6. Without having to crop the image. And, the film uses the Matroska (MKV) container. Add on your "overall experience" the "delightful experience" that is dealing with iTunes... Between the touchwizard (which I can disable anytime I want and exchange it for something else) and deal with iTunes for everything (You're stuck with it, good luck), I prefer the touchwizard. And recall that this is just one example of many.

Still not convinced? Try this. The reality distortion field from the late Jobs only works on dumbass guys like you.
