Of course, the downside is when you call support they will blame every problem on your modem instead of their connection. Even if your modem is logging repeated disconnects from their servers timing out... When you have connection problems with cable, the only way to fix it is to leave for competing service if you are lucky enough to have that option. Otherwise techs will come out and replace splitters, couplers, reboot your computer a billion times, and will never check their end.

Looks like he tweeted a picture of a low hill to me. One that does not have year round snow pack. The actual Teton mountains do, but that's not what he posted a picture of. He posted a picture of what looks to be East Gros Ventre Butte with a dusting of snow. That hill is green in the summer time. The fact that it got less snow than usual last winter is as much of a sign of a drought that has been going on in the west as it is climate change.

Hubris I may have, but I'm not the one who make claims of ignorance of the other side while providing no evidence.

No, I'm comparing relatively small amounts on snowfall on a skiing hill.

That is not slowly melting snow pack. That is directly comparable to an abundance of snowfall in a given year in Boston.

Also Bill Nye tweeting about weather and complaining it's not assigned to climate change is not a rare occurrence:

Sadly the way it works is that Bill Nye goes on TV to explain why a snowstorm in Boston isn't evidence against global warming, but then tweets a mountain in the Rockies that doesn't have snow on it as evidence FOR global warming. You can't have it both ways. Science doesn't accept anecdotes as data regardless of it supports or refutes your hypothesis. If you want to say "weather is not climate" than you shouldn't be using weather as a rallying point for your climate cause.

Right, that's the catch 22. You don't "have" to provide you SS number to companies, you'd just have to live without natural gas, electric, or water service to your residence. All of them pretty much require you to give it to them. I asked if there was an alternative, and was told that if I didn't want to provide my SSN I could come to their office (45 minutes away, longer in traffic) during normal business hours (so like 3 hours off work) and put down a $500 deposit for the account to start service. So yeah, you pretty much have to give them your SSN.

These things are not "oil subsidies" any more than the IRS subsidizes the paper industry by requiring so many damn forms.

How exactly would the cops know he was white or black under a stormtrooper helmet? Would they ask him to take his mask off and then shoot him? I guess they assumed he was white since except for Lando, Mace Windu, and the new trailer, black people don't exist in Star Wars.

Except that the city having Google Fiber isn't every house having access. Google announced that Google Fiber was coming to certain neighborhoods in Atlanta. Guess what, AT&T and Comcast both announced new faster speeds for less money! But only in the same neighborhoods that are getting access to Google Fiber. It's obvious they have the capability and would still make money, but have no incentive to unless someone comes into the market offering something better. And if they do up their speeds and lower their prices, they sure as hell aren't going to offer it to the poor bastards that don't have a choice.
