Yeah, this is it. If you do the things that slow down windows, it will slow down. I've had Win boxes that have been horrible to boot, but it's because I installed a lot of services in the background (often without realizing it.....auto-updates come with device drivers, etc). I've also had Win boxes that are just as snappy as ever, because I kept them clean.

You may have noticed me mention that we push quickly into our repository, the article mentioned developers trying to merge a week of work

That's the problem. If you merge quickly, merging is usually painless. If everyone saves a week of work for merging, it can get really painful.

Seriously, hire a developer for six figures and give him a few hundred bucks in desk space that doesn't even have four cube walls?

I've wondered that. Beyond noise as a distraction, when they're that close, personal hygiene becomes a distraction.

This is one of the 'hidden' secrets of pair programming........the quality of your partner matters a lot. With pair programming, suddenly interpersonal skills matter a lot more than they ever did with normal programming, because you literally have to work with someone on every line of code.

Your idea of religion sounds like something you picked up in high school from some kind of evangelical pastor who was out to make money. Never trust someone who preaches for money. None of the religions I mentioned (or the scriptures I referred to) say "well and sincerely." Tantric yoga doesn't even come close.

But lets assume that it did say sincerely......it is still wrong. You know if you are sincere or not. That is something you can discern and know. So it is falsifiable there too.......you are wrong on multiple levels.
