Precisely which audience is having problems reading slashdot, on precisely which platform?

Dice basically wants to use the /. brand to sell more ad space by increasing traffic to /. directly. /. classic doesn't test well with the group they want to visit thus /. beta was chosen from several possible UI because the highest percentage of individuals from the target demographic rated it the best. What will most likely happen is /. will dwindle to a fraction of traffic it currently has and Dice will decide to re-brand the site SyDot and start running news stories about wrestling half the time and ghosts the other half.

I wonder if those estimates include the transmission infrastructure to carry the electricity to high usage areas? The Wind Farm rush of West Texas had every energy company throwing up wind turbines to get the government subsidies. Next thing you knew there was more power generation in West Texas than the transmissions lines could carry back to Dallas where it was needed. The cost of storing electricity is more than it is worth so large amounts of electricity were being shunted directly into the ground while E.R.C.O.T. decided how to build out the new transmission lines. That project alone took 5 years and cost around 4 Billion.

TBH I find it appalling what the GOP is doing these days and I am terrified by some of the DNC ideas. Perhaps it's time Michael Bay did a movie IN congress!

Well unless I am missing something you could have more than one WiFi AP. I have one set to only accept bg connections and the other only accepts N. As soon as I pull the trigger on something that can use (and will actually benefit) from AC I'll add a third. Just pick different channels so they don't overlap and you can keep right on trucking with the old stuff without slowing down the new.

Since music is a collaborative art, and you are going to want to share music, aren't you better off using what people in your "scene" are using, whether that's your school program or online forum or in the performance venues you frequent? I'd expect that would trump whatever software might look "best" if you were working alone.

Perhaps a program that actually facilitates said collaboration would be useful. Was just looking at some software on Steam earlier and this piqued my interest. It's Windows/Mac only ATM but the base program can be used for free.

The same will happen here, only that BMW and other manufacturers have a lot less resources available to stay ahead of the evil crackers, hackers modders.

But they do have the resources to pay their lobbyist/attorneys to get the chips/software outlawed like Sony/Microsoft did for PlayStation/XBox MOD Chips. You can still get the chips if you look but if you get caught you will be made example of.
