In my opinion, Windows RT just hasn't proved its value. With the exception of the Surface (RT), I can't think of a single RT device that made me think "Oh, I want that!" I do own a Dell XPS10, but It certainly wasn't a value at its original price. I purchased this from craigslist and didn't actually make a move on one until the 64GB model I kept my eye on dropped to $280 (with keyboard). Sadly, it's a buggy affair, as Dell hasn't quite figured out how to implement the dock properly in my opinion. Back on topic, however, while the included Office is a nice touch, the only reason the tablet works for me is my simple needs. I basically need a browser for couch and toilet surfing. My Xbox music pass is a nice touch, though not a selling point on a tablet (my phone is a different story). The app selection is still woefully lacking, but I can't complain too much at $280. I'd be very upset if I'd paid $500-600 for a device with the same restrictions (and no, I won't buy an iPad or Android tablet at that price either). At that price, I'd rather save a little more for a Surface Pro or something along that lines.

If they're as good as the Lumia 925 (and I assume they are), they're damned good. Far better than my Galaxy S3. Definitely not DSLR good, but damned good, nonetheless. At a recent concert, I was impressed how well it handled the stage lighting and everything. Many other phones didn't fare nearly as well as mine did. I did end up wishing I'd picked up a 1020 instead, as the performer's face was completely lacking any detail at the distance I was at.

This is just awful placement. I actually would have no issue with ads inside the Bing app results (just like you would on the search page). The placement on the Smart Search, visible from the main start screen, is just atrocious. I'd just as soon disable the Bing from smart search anyway. Microsoft made a great impression on my with Metro UI, both in Windows Phone, and in Windows 8/RT in that it always looks clean and unfettered by advertising. They'll be quickly losing that advantage if they steer it in the direction of the XBox's UI with ads everywhere.

As a counterpoint to your claims of being "unusuable," my Dell XPS10 (another RT device) came with Microsoft Office Home & Student 2013. I could care less about Word, Excel and PowerPoint, but it did come with OneNote. This is not the crappy OneNote that is available for most other devices and does not support "ink" input. This is actual OneNote. Aside from that, I used my Transformer Prime for Netflix, Hulu, Emulators, and Couch/Toilet browsing. The XPS10 does all of those things. Just don't try finding any worthwhile games on the Windows marketplace for it. They're all just awful. Truly awful. *Note: I did not pay anywhere near full price for this device. We would be having a different conversation had I paid full price for the 64GB model with keyboard dock. *Note2: It has quirks - the tablet battery drains before the keyboard battery does and it sometimes has issues enumerating the devices on the dock. It does let me turn taps off, which I appreciate after millions of accidental clicks on the Transformer Prime.

Password control? You could implement a policy where all remote connections must be sanctioned by someone on your side and disable/change passwords fatter the remote user notifies you their work is done or after a predetermined amount of time. Bear in mind you should read your support contract before you try this -you may find nasty penalties or be in breach.
