Yes high pH soil is alkaline but a lot of plants people grow in their garden like a lower pH slightly acidic soil. I unfortunately live in an area with high pH soil (about 9 naturally) as it use to be a riverbed for a tributary of Glacial River Warren. I know that coffee grounds don't do much for soil pH and if that was the only benefit you were seeking you would be better served by adding some elemental sulfur or a bunch of peat moss to acidify the soil. Than again most people don't care all that much about their soil in their gardens and just use copious amounts of fertilizers or just change the dirt out periodically instead of trying to improve the soil quality. I have been slowly transforming the dirt in my garden into basically a form of terra preta.

That seems like a pretty big if especially considering that if they did mobilize a force on par with the US population ready to attack we would in all likelihood turn them into a smouldering hole in the ground. If it becomes a choice between the US being exterminated or some other countries being exterminated the choice from the US perspective becomes real clear real fast. Personally we should have never gotten involved in the middle east those people all hate each other and supporting any one side pisses of at least 3 others. Why be a unifying beacon of hate.

Those are fairly expensive per shot from my understanding. I don't know what they cost the military but the .50 BMG round in the civilian market the cheap end is about $5 per shot. So even assuming the military gets a bulk discount because they bought a billion rounds (from the number pulled from my ass department) it seems unlikely that it would cost less than a $1 per shot. I have looked into reloading but given what I mostly shoot (Finnish M39 with 203grain bullets) I might be able to slightly better than the ~$0.50 per shot I pay retail but that would require finding some 7.62x54r reloadable brass. Given that it wouldn't surprise me if the materials for a .50BMG round cost more that a $1 and then is sold to the government for $1.01 if not $2.

Let's be honest here. Fucking around in the middle east isn't going end well for anyone. Those people all hate each other and being friendly to one side means you have just pissed off the other 3 sides. The only reason we tolerate them is that they have oil, if they didn't then they would be all those African countries that regularly tear themselves apart that we hear about on the news and the say why won't anyone do anything?

Considering that the shoe bomber was let on the plane and stopped by the passengers I wouldn't want to use that as an example. Then there is the underwear bomber that ended in a similar fashion. Or maybe you are referring to planned attacks like the planned Portland Christmas tree bombing?

Seriously 9/11 was a tragic event and we did put in place some measures to prevent any further attacks like that but what most people don't realize is that it isn't the stupid shit they see being manned by the otherwise unemployable TSA agents.

The simple fact that I can easily come up with plenty of ways to commit terrorism that would be successful attempts tells me that the actual threat of terrorism to the US is very small. I am all for sensible actions like keeping the cockpit door locked, and having a hardened cockpit door, but the fact that someone who can't seem to rub 2 brain cells together sets his underwear on fire doesn't mean we need to invade everyone's privacy. Just like if you are worried about lightning strikes you put up a grounded lightning rod, not try and figure out how you can redirect the fucking clouds away from your house.

The GPS modules are U-blox LEA-6t and you can find the info necessary for getting one here. The company that makes the module is synergy systems and the antennas I got from them is this one. From what I remember the first module was $35 and the second one was $70, I forget what the antennas were but there was a 10% discount they give to the home tinkerer market on the regular priced module and antennas. Instructions on getting the modules can be found in the diydrones link as you couldn't just order it online at the moment. The company was very helpful in getting me what I needed and answering my continuous stream of questions.

Probably. Given what gets classified and then leaked it seems to be that anything that might embarrass the US Federal Government of major political leaders gets classified as a threat to national security, so why not HHS?
