Definitely humans provide care in a way an algorithm cannot. On the other hand, when the summary does get around to mentioning what Kaiser is actually doing, it's monitoring sensors. Computers are pretty damn good at maintaining vigilance in sensor monitoring, in a way people are not. That's why we have fire alarms even though humans can also feel heat and smell smoke.
Although, they make some nice non-OLED screens too.
I'd just be hearing the same shit as regular radio but now in HD.
Actually, HD Radio has stations that don't exist on analog radio because broadcasters can pile multiple streams (sub-channels) onto the same frequency basically for free. In my area, the only full-time classical music station is on HD radio.
This is like sending coals from eastern Newcastle to western Newcastle.
If you're hiring somewhere you don't sell anything, that's definitely offshoring.
Before any of us even imagined we'd have a computer or a course on it, we "programmed" in text books. The language was mostly GOTO, but might even have the occasional conditional as in, "If you like cheese turn to page 56 otherwise 103". Typical applications were insulting the teacher's appearance, as in "for a picture of the teacher, turn to page 45", where there was a picture of a gorilla.
This was of course, not permitted which made us low-key black hat "hackers". In private school the penalty for this was far too steep. I don't know if public school kids learned how to diagram sentences or not; but we did. I later realized we had been taught parse trees by another name.
Yes, BASIC was my first programming language on an actual computer.
You have serial ports? We had to sort the electrons by hand and push them down the wire one at a time!
The problem is that debt diverts a large share of actual economic output (goods and services) into passive income (interest paid). Disconnecting productivity from consumption is bad. Communism goes all in on it but runaway capitalism does it too.
fortune: cpu time/usefulness ratio too high -- core dumped.
