Journal zogger's Journal: An interesting recess appointment 12

An Obama appointment for a key trade negotiator for ag concerns. Basically a global food cartel guy. One of the funny/odd things about him is his lobby group is one of the main complainers about the whitehouse organic garden. 0_o

There are actually people complaining about the White House garden? Really?

    • Of course. The biggest scary boogie monster to the big agricorps is people realizing that they can landscape in edibles. Would drop their market down a big hole in the ground.

When ms prez announced her organic kitchen garden, the food monopoly cartel went absolutely apesquat. Issued all sorts of press releases saying that "modern ag science and chemicals are safe and wholesome and delicious" etc.

I'm in a weird predicament of sorts. As a small time gardener, I am full organic. As a worker on a big commercial farm...I am not. It's annoying but one of those "life's compromises" you get forced into sometimes.

Some years ago now my big plan was to retire to my own farm, where

  • I hate to say it, but the GOP could learn a couple of things from Obama.

I know, imagine if the GOP said "Fuck you, rednecks!" the way the Democrats have been saying "Fuck you, hippies!" But it isn't really about rednecks and hippies, left and right. It's about money... and money.

      • ..and that same sentiment has at least got the attention of a lot of tea partiers, who are very reluctant to get compromised by the establishment Rs (and I noticed that back in the 60s..and we still see the same BS, so I give up with the major parties). Although they are by and large conservative, they know full well the big league R party is the party of the non loyal globalist slash and burn looters who do not care a whit about them except as targets for exploitation. For example, they were a lot of the f

Many of the original tea party activists are pretty pissed that Faux News co-opted their group and turned it into an ultra conservative circus. The original tea-partiers pretty much hate the new wingnuts who have invaded their group.

Any new group trying to affect change will be bought out as soon as they become large enough to be a threat.

          • Oh, you mean the 'original' original Tea partiers, bankrolled by Dick Armey, among others? Yeah, they were real independent back then! Nothing like the GOP-lite version we have now!

Huh. They weren't? I really don't know, it's just what I heard, some old-school tea partiers grousing about the new guys. I hadn't heard that Dick Armey had funded them.

  • 98 globalist environmentalist socialist orgs don't like Obama's pick for ag trade rep -- whoopdeedoo. He's disappointed his fellow far Lefties a few other times as well, and they scream bloody murder over it, but they'll live. Nothing really new. I take your word for it that the ag cartels are evil, but if this guy successfully fought for ag cartel interests, he could prolly successfully fight for America's interests.

To thine own self be true. (If not that, at least make some money.)
