Journal blinder's Journal: Shuttle Bus: ~6, Blinder: 0 7
so, i've been having all sorts of fun with the shuttle bus that i take from harvard square to watertown (where i work).
over the last few weeks the buses have been getting later and later and the number of people using it has, from what i've seen steadily increased (but the number of buses hasn't nor has the interval between pick-ups have not decreased), to the point that i've had to wait for another bus, because the one i was waiting for, was full. well, last night i had to wait for two buses. i left the office at 5:00 p.m. i left the parking lot at 6:10 p.m.
well, this morning i left late and so i got a spot on the bus, got a window seat. well, as i'm sitting there, playing a pitch on my handheld, with my elbow almost, but not quite resting on the window frame, the driver takes a pothole really hard, and fast. the resulting shock caused my elbo to hit the thin metal frame and bashed it pretty hard. it hurt like a bugger but i didn't really think anything beyond that, until i got to my stop and looked down and notice two large blood stains on my trousers.
*sigh*
then i looked and noticed a huge chunk of skin was missing from my elbow. grrr.
i walked, briskly, up to the bathroom and managed to dab most of the blood stains off my trousers and got my elbow cleaned up, but now it hurts like a sonofabitch.
i joked to a co-worker that if they ever decide to take the shuttle, to make sure they have elbow and knee pads on.
yeah, the shuttle bus service is a free service the complex provides companies who set up shop here so that folks can come into work on the t (subway), but sheesh, i just wonder if they couuld have drivers that maybe paid attention to the roads a little better? i mean, sure i first thought it was my fault for having my elbow up, but that just doesn't seem right.

Uh ... I hope no-one in Oslo will do anything like that yet. Not that there isn't something to be angry about, and we have even have big and numerous potholes here. But there is something else that is the problem, when one finally figures out where a bus stop is there will at least arrive a bus there. It may not go where you want, but hey! it keeps you dry and is reasonably comfortable. The tough part is the lack of information for occasional travellers.

Once a few of his passengers actually called the cops because he "drove too fast". Of course, the callers had alread left when the police arrived. Since all speeds are recorded during a drive, my brother just handed over the disc and they could see he had done nothing wrong.
You see, even if the driver is "driving normally", passengers often have a different impression. This is mainly due to the fact of not being in control, and to t

here's some more context. this was late morning (well after the rush, by a couple hours). i was the *only* one on the bus.
more context, the roads around harvard are, well, to say they are paved is probably being kind, they are pretty rough... hell, just over in boston (where the roads are worse typically) they have a policy of just paying people when they break an axle because of the road conditions.
i'm not saying the bus driver did anything wrong, what i am saying is a b
