I live in Arizona, which Google claims is the COVID Hotspot of the World right now.

I haven't had either strain as far as I know. Haven't been sick for years. At some point, I'm starting to think if I haven't experienced anything yet, maybe I've already had it and was simply entirely asymptomatic.

Go outside, plant a vegetable garden, and chill out. De-stressing, eating fresh fruit/veggies, and exercise is the best cure of all IMO.

Python 3.8 Will Finally Include the Walrus Operator (lwn.net) 151

An anonymous reader quotes LWN: Python 3.8 is feature complete at this point, which makes it a good time to see what will be part of it when the final release is made. That is currently scheduled for October, so users don't have that long to wait to start using those new features.

The headline feature for Python 3.8 is also its most contentious. The process for deciding on Python Enhancement Proposal (PEP) 572 ("Assignment Expressions") was a rather bumpy ride that eventually resulted in a new governance model for the language. That model meant that a new steering council would replace longtime benevolent dictator for life (BDFL) Guido van Rossum for decision-making, after Van Rossum stepped down in part due to the "PEP 572 mess".

Out of that came a new operator, however, that is often called the "walrus operator" due to its visual appearance. Using ":=" in an if or while statement allows assigning a value to a variable while testing it... It is a feature that many other languages have, but Python has, of course, gone without it for nearly 30 years at this point. In the end, it is actually a fairly small change for all of the uproar it caused.

The fact that Trump and his administration tried blocking people proves that he doesn't believe in the Constitution, Freedom of Speech or in American Values. He hates America.

OMG. What a steaming pile of BS. Trump loves America. Why else would he put himself through all this mudslinging to try and put things right after several decades of presidents that have been undermining America?

And the fact that the Republican party has given up on its core values - like free trade - to support Trump no matter what, has shown the GOP has lost all values, ethics and has no morality.

Trump is fully in favor of free trade. China, however, is not. Why was it that all the money and jobs were flowing to China while American products were not being sold to Chinese people? If we had had free trade, there would not have been the huge trade imbalance that was occurring.

If China wants to block American goods and services from being sold to the Chinese population, Trump has every right and good reason to block China's goods and services from being sold in the US.

The Republicans are actively destroying America and her values.

Riiight... Because importing a bunch of illegal aliens and letting them stay in America without going through the legal channels of naturalization and citizenship doesn't destroy American values. Why did the Democrats oppose the border wall so viciously? Why do the Democrats oppose deporting the illegal aliens? Could it be that the Democrats want to destroy American values?

In the Glorious State of California, pepper spraying campus po-po make over $100K/year! Worker's comp alone is well north of 30K...

If so, then I'd say there is a world of difference right there. Sure, the web browser is too fat and monolithic, but I'm not going to get too puffed up over that because, well, it's supposedly kept in check by the system...

But systemd, at millions of lines of code and running at the highest privilege levels possible... That sounds like a red flag to me. WWOBSDD? (what would OpenBSD do?)
