They won't want to touch the other side of it either. If what Flock is doing is fine, so is the creeper snapping photos on a public playground and creating a giant database somewhere.
That seems...undesirable.
Agency is just it's ability to act upon it's conclusions. While there is a great argument that AI should not be given agency, it had it.
If you're trying to say it had no sentience, I'll agree with that.
In the same sense that a gerbil has agency but not sentience. It too might escape from a cage.
The whole bury it for 100,000 years seems to be FUD anyway. That figure leaves the waste less radioactive than the uranium rocks the fuel came from ever were. If we applied the same standard to natural sources we'd be up in arms about banana peel disposal.
Replacing garbage trucks burned by angry villagers can get expensive.
On the other hand, it is actually common to make the duress password VERY similar to the correct password so it looks about the same when you enter it. Especially on something like a phone where you can generally re-load the data later if you want. The consequences of an accidental wipe may be quite small.
Other posible explanations include the defendant remembering the wrong password under pressure. The defendant having any history of mis-typing is irrelevant.
He was definitely right when he said the iBook looked like a Hello Kitty purse.
Or Fat Fingers McSpellsbad typoed the correct password and landed on the duress password instead. We'll never know since in the process he destroyed any evidence of what the passwords might have been.
Fortunately for the defendant, it's up to the prosecutor to PROVE that that isn't how the data came to be wiped.

This asshole let the current asshole in the WH by enabling said asshole's bullshit - the asshole even admitted to it. I'm sure AS FUCK not gonna consider any of this asshole's products, ever.
What an asshole!
Since there is monetary value attached to the account, yes they are.
Z80 was also my first assembly language. Perhaps not super important for me, but it's nice to know the Z80 will continue to exist in some recognizable form.
IIRC, LANtastic cards (another relic of the past) had a Z-80 on them. It was socketed, no less.
... then piracy isn't stealing."
Ain't no way I'm letting some AI access to my passwords, no matter how "safe" they claim it is.
"These claims lack merit and are not based on facts," said Meta in a statement. "Workforce management and organizational decisions were and are made by people, not AI."
