Comment Trump is openly hoping for a terrorist attack (Score 2) 19

It's painfully obvious he was hoping that attacking Iran would get us a second 9/11 and he could ride that into a third term in office.

Trump put completely incompetent people even by his standards in charge of anti-terrorism. One of them is literally a 20 year old grocery store employee. That's who's in charge of keeping you safe from terrorism at the federal level at least.

Iran isn't stupid so they didn't bite. Trump is of course doubling down because that's all right wingers know how to do. But Iran has pretty good control over their non state actors.

Bush Jr would never have gotten the second term without 9/11. Trump looks at that and says hey that could work for me. A couple thousand dead Americans isn't even a price to pay in his eyes.

It's painfully obvious that we are not above the decisions Sam Altman makes. He gets to decide how our lives go. He's making serious decisions about the future of society, america, and the human race in general.

I think that's too big for most people to wrap their heads around and deal with especially because most of us have figured out we don't have a place in that future.

Porsche only sells luxury products, though they've occasionally flirted with lesser machines they're above that now, and their highest end vehicles are among the very best in the world. Apple sells everything from mass market up to medium expensive, but if you want the most powerful machine in the fanciest case, Apple has absolutely nothing for you. OK, where the fuck is the tiny car? They then often follow it up sucking their dicks about how they deserve to run off with all the fucking money that they got through an assortment of nefarious bullshit that these cucks are in denial about.

What the fuck do you get out of bending over and spreading your asshole for the rich every time someone mentions that their hoarding is negatively affecting others? It is in fact insane for anyone to have claimed that Apple would fail for a long time now, because they have huge stacks of cash and huge investments. Apple has more actual cash than almost anyone, they can literally pay their bills for a long time without having to do anything other than authorize payments.

Apple also has big stupid inertia like Microsoft used to have, where people just assumed competence. And they have more technical competence than Microsoft ever did, at least in their domain, and a demonstrated ability to capitalize. Now that they have their own competitive CPU (again, in their domain) they are actually a force again like they used to be.

If they ever get their CPUs to scale up to the really high end, they could genuinely dominate. That's irritating given how much they lock everything down, though.
