A House of Commons public spending watchdog has accused BBC chief Mark Thompson of illegally supporting Microsoft and being blinded by novelty in failing to ensure its iPlayer on demand services are available to all licence fee payers.

The British government must set policies to ensure that the current drive towards biofuels does not make a bad situation even worse.
