It's hard to tell people they need to "root" their phones to run F-Droid: http://f-droid.org And it's particularly unfortunate in light of the fairly dire need for open source apps to get popularized on phones. Much less risk of malware.

I like how it never crosses your mind that race really could be the issue. You are obviously not a person of color, and have no conception of what it's like to be non-white in America. And people distrust the media because Fox News was created to do that. An informed populace can't be fooled as easily.

The link you provided was to RT, which publishes a lot of spurious information. The paper they reference is not peer reviewed, and published on a trash website that looks credible at first. I'm not saying it's not true, but I am saying that if there were strong evidence for it, many enterprising young reporters would be publishing it far and wide.

There is a slight difference. If you're running a web server, this is a service designed to share your information with the rest of the world. If, for example, you have some data that is only accessible by typing in a URL--ie. you don't have a link to it--is someone "hacking" if they access it? In other words, the analogy with rape is a false one.

Yes, they do. Poor security = no security. You are literally inviting people to read your data because you have not made a proper effort to conceal it. If you don't agree with that, consider the alternative. We live in a world where half assed managers can simply rely on their lawyers, and bribing government lawyers, to sue everybody in the world to keep their systems secure.
