The local theater around here is $4 for Seniors, and children under 12, and $5 for adults, except for 1 PM matinees (Sat and Sun) and Thursday night (Bargin Night) where all seats are $3. This does not include drinks and popcorn which are reasonable compared to other theaters as well.

Wal-Mart Ends DRM Support 231

An anonymous reader writes "So, you thought you did well to support the fledgling music industry by purchasing your tracks legally from the Wal-Mart store? Well, forget about moving these tracks to a new PC! Since they started selling DRM-free tracks last year, there's no money to be made in maintaining the DRM support systems, and in fact, support is being shut down. Make sure you circumvent the restrictions by burning the tracks to an old-fashioned CD before Wal-mart 'will no longer be able to assist with digital rights management issues for protected WMA files purchased from Walmart.com.' Support ends October 9th."

Man Denied Boarding Because of Transformers Shirt 2

Brad Jayakody was told he would have to change his shirt if he wanted to catch his flight to Dusseldorf, Germany. The shirt that security at Heathrow got upset about depicts the Transformers character Optimus Prime holding a gun. Brad said, "I was flabbergasted. I thought the supervisor would come over and see sense, but he didn't. After I changed he said if I changed back I would be arrested." I would understand if the guy was wearing a Megatron shirt, after all that guy turns into a gun which could be very dangerous but Prime? There is no way a semi could fit on a passenger plane it's just silly.

Submission + - Light Bulb Destruction Techniques

jrmcferren writes: "From an old Candlepower forums post in 2000 here are some interesting ways to destroy a light bulb.

Examples:

Soak light bulbs overnight in liquid nitrogen. Remove them, screw them in, and quickly turn them on.

Microwave them. Always place a cup of water in with the bulb(s) to prevent the magnetron from overheating.

Submission + - Could Oral Sex Cure Skin Cancer?

shaitand writes: Previously my wife had a small spot of skin cancer removed. About a year later the spot returned. Rather than taking her back to the kooks in white coats I put her on a protein diet. I had previously read that females who engaged in oral sex and swallowed had greater disease and cancer resistance. So I began administering salted protein doses orally twice daily. Within three months the spot was completely gone and it has never returned. Could this really have been the cure?

Should we all make this sacrifice for the benefit of our significant others?

Submission + - Robot snowblower lets Pennsylvania man relax

davidwr writes: A Pennsylvania man can take it easy while his robot snowblower does all the heavy lifting, er, blowing. It's basically a converted golf cart with a snowblower attachment, gear mods, and a remote-control hack. Is this the "must-have geek do-it-yourself-kit" for geeks in snow country next Christmas? Now if only the guys near Buffalo had a beowulf cluster of these babies last week....
