Greatly simplify the kernel with this patch from Paul McKenney (IBM) which reduces NR_CPU's to zero. This patch has the beneficial side effect of eliminating many bugs.

This Wall Street Journal blurb notes that a senior attorney who led several antitrust investigations against Google has been hired by Microsoft. The article is behind a paywall but it does say that his new job will be the same at Microsoft, namely, he will continue fighting on Microsoft's behalf in front of the FTC.
I find it interesting how this was published in a very quiet way, buried behind a paywall right before a weekend.

According to this article at El Reg, Rupert Murdoch is not happy with Obama's comments on SOPA. He seems to think that Obama is being swayed by lobbyists and campaign contributions. Bear in mind that Murdoch owns several media outlets that are directly affected by the legislation, including FOX news.

Groklaw has just received an invitation to be archived in the Library of Congress. In true FOSS style, PJ has decided to ask all the contributors and commenters if they wish to be included, since commenters own the copyrights on their comments. So far, the answer seems to be "yes". Even for Anonymous Cowards. It's a great honor for Groklaw, but one wonders how many AC's there are, or would Congress think that they are all one person?
