I don't support direct insults of foreign leaders, but trump has no issue with that. Unless it's Putin.

And look up *Helsinki Trump Putin" or "Trump NATO Russia do what we the hell they want".

Quit pretending to be naive, comrade.

Comparing Trump's need for absolute loyalty and sycophants in his administration to what Biden or any normal president does is dishonest.

Inflation is due to bills passed by Congress and signed by both presidents in the aftermath of COVID.

Tech bubble during COVID is not related to presidential action.

Trump's quote is not out of context. He does not give a shit about loyalty to allies or maintaining a strong front against Russia.

Putin is the one person Trump has never directly insulted. Uncannily so. He defers to Putin against NATO and our own IC. He is a chump for so many reasons that shouldn't need said to someone with ears and eyes.

Almost every Reddit sub is an ideological front.

Because the GOP just needs stupid people to be mad about things.

If they actually fixed the border at a national level, they would lose their cheap labor and a great thing to get conservatives mad about.

If they fix education, there may be fewer obedient Christian extremists.

This has the appearance of "fixing" access to objectionable materials to the tech-illiterate, while doing nothing to actually stop access to porn.

If this *actually* kept porn out of the state, I feel they would be losing more votes.

Do you think that China is actually trying to make The West like that?

Yes. There will always be some discontent and some regressive ideology in a society. Our ideological enemies want to see our countries unity disintegrate. They want to see us lose trust in our own government and our own institutions, the rule of law, the expectation of mutual respect amongst citizens.

Reddit appears to be a cesspool of stupidity, far right ideology, far left ideology, and divisive rhetoric all around. And while a fair amount of that is probably genuine feeling from some users, a lot of that is jinned up by antagonists of America.

We all need to touch more grass. Reddit, salon, the new Republic, etc can be just as bad of a filter bubble as Fox News for one's mental health.

I don't think banning tiktok is the solution.

I think forcing major phone OSes to have granular permission controls, and possibly banning/regulating what permissions high risk apps can have, is the solution.

US could ban tiktok from having location access. Or force transparency on telemetry and location collection. Or any number of privacy protections that protect users from all apps, including Instagram.

Banning a communication platform outright, well, I agree that Instagram is the US government preference for people making video shorts, but it seems like an unnecessary step and a dangerous precedent.

On the flip side, fuck China.
