We create a three-dimensional signed distance field (SDF) and a textured field using two latent codes. DMTet is employed to derive a 3D surface mesh from the SDF, and we sample the texture field at the surface points to obtain color information. Our training incorporates adversarial losses focused on 2D images, specifically utilizing a rasterization-based differentiable renderer to produce both RGB images and silhouettes. To distinguish between genuine and generated inputs, we implement two separate 2D discriminators—one for RGB images and another for silhouettes. The entire framework is designed to be trainable in an end-to-end manner. As various sectors increasingly transition towards the development of expansive 3D virtual environments, the demand for scalable tools that can generate substantial quantities of high-quality and diverse 3D content has become apparent. Our research endeavors to create effective 3D generative models capable of producing textured meshes that can be seamlessly integrated into 3D rendering engines, thereby facilitating their immediate application in various downstream uses. This approach not only addresses the scalability challenge but also enhances the potential for innovative applications in virtual reality and gaming. -

Sony 3D Creator
Sony
The 3D Creator app enables users to scan objects in three dimensions. In its most recent update, it features five distinct scanning options: selfie scan, face scan, head scan, food scan, and freeform scan. This app comes preinstalled on various Xperia models, including Xperia 1, Xperia XZ1, Xperia XZ1 Compact, Xperia XZ2, Xperia XZ2 Compact, Xperia XZ2 Premium, and Xperia XZ3. Additionally, users of the Xperia XZ Premium can access the 3D Creator through the Android 8.0 (Oreo) update. The initial step in the scanning process involves calibration, where the camera captures images as you slowly move around the item, while an algorithm identifies prominent features. Using the camera's position and the collected images, a rough point cloud is generated, which lacks color. Following this, a mesh is constructed from the point cloud data, which consists of numerous 3D points known as vertices. With the information from the point cloud, the algorithm refines the mesh to accurately replicate the shape of the object being scanned, resulting in a detailed 3D model. This innovative process opens up new possibilities for digital representation of real-world objects. -

3dSynth
3dSynth.app
3dSynth is a creative toolpath synthesizer designed for experimental and artistic 3D printing workflows. Instead of converting meshes into G-code, it generates toolpaths directly using parametric definitions you control. This approach removes the need for mesh repair, slicer tweaking, or intermediate STL files. Users begin by defining a base profile using a spline editor, shaping the object’s silhouette along its height. From there, stackable modulators are applied to mathematically transform the geometry, such as adding waves, bumps, twists, or fractal patterns. Each effect can be limited to specific height ranges, enabling intricate surface detail and variation. The interface provides instant visual feedback with a live 3D preview of the exact print path. Built-in printer profiles ensure exported G-code includes proper start and end sequences. 3dSynth is especially suited for spiral vase printing and other continuous extrusion designs. The result is a fast, expressive workflow focused on form exploration rather than traditional modeling. -
